Free agent safety Kerry Rhodes has generated no interest from NFL teams since being released by the Arizona Cardinals in March. A source told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com that there is "no buzz" surrounding Rhodes and that, while four teams worked out defensive backs last week, none of these teams worked out Rhodes.
So what gives? Rhodes is only 31 and had a terrific year in Arizona last season, starting 15 games and racking up 67 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and four interceptions while grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 4 safety. Rhodes would seem to be a valuable asset to any team's roster and it seems criminal that he is no longer in the NFL.
Florio and Drew Magary of Deadspin suggest that rumors about Rhodes' sexual orientation could be behind the lack of interest. Rhodes has denied the rumors but there has to be some reason why a healthy, Pro Bowl-caliber safety remains unemployed.

"It's like going from Alcatraz to Dorney Park."
It is better to destroy than create what is meaningless, so the picture will not be finished.
