Chaos Icon : (14 February 2015 - 04:00 PM) no rush to cut them now
Chaos Icon : (14 February 2015 - 04:01 PM) they both cost 125k to keep now and are not guaranteed a roster spot. they can get cap savings by removing them later
Chaos Icon : (14 February 2015 - 04:01 PM) 125k each. 250k total.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 February 2015 - 05:19 PM) I think they should keep Babin, he was actually our best pass rusher last season despite 2 sacks. He had a lot of QB pressures in limited snaps.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 February 2015 - 05:20 PM) There are some good edge rushers available in FA, I hope we sign one

ganggreen2003 Icon : (15 February 2015 - 11:23 PM) Babin being brought back isn't a big deal but Pace really?
azjetfan Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:43 AM) There is no guarantee either will be on the roster opening day. This gives the Jets the most options in FA and the draft. For once I would love to see Jet fans not jump before the need
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:39 PM) I'd cut Pace, we easily can upgrade over him in FA
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:40 PM) Babin I'd keep , he had more QB pressures in way less snaps than Pace. And is cheap.

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 February 2015 - 12:28 PM) Reports say Jets to go hard after CJ Spiller. Bring him aboard, he'll be a good signing. Was a stud in Chan's offense and RBs don't cost much
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:09 PM) Saw that the Bills are meeting with Spiller and may sign him before FA.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:10 PM) if that happens, I think the Jets should go after Shane Vereen. Nice pass catching option out of the backfield, only 25.
Smedsthejet Icon : (20 February 2015 - 04:06 PM) Think Vereen would be a great option...I thought he was one of their best and most valuable performers during the playoffs and we need a back who can contribute in the passing game as well. Jets have been missing that piece since LT retired

So far this year Dee Millner has shown he is not a first round pick. A player who seems to get hurt a lot and is quite fragile . When on the field, is getting beat often! Rex benching him twice. Dont know of any other player who is getting benched as much as much as him. He is not the answer. What are your thoughts?

It's been eight games and he's a corner back. It'll take some time. Everyone needs to calm down about judging rookies so soon. Some catch on fast and some do not. Give him at least a season before stamping him a bust.

Milliner is a rookie. He deserves another year before classifying him a bust. Wilson is a total bust and needs to be cut. He is a total liability. Anyone that says difference needs to accept the fact that Wilson has constantly dropped in the depth chart every year. He is pretty much only used in the nickle and doesn't even do that well. He is 5th or 6th on the secondary depth chart and cant go any lower. Basically Wilson`s another Lowery if not worse. He has only lasted this long because he is cheap.

And by the way @shrekman1..... :sterb041:/>/>/>/> Spelling police here......... the man plays for your team please spell his name right...."Common Man"!

Its Milliner not Millner.

Just having fun with you man.

I gave up on correcting people a long time ago. It's sad people can't even take the time to spell the players name but there's far too many people doing it to care anymore.

As for Dee, it's clearly a massive learning curve for the fella. Can't jump to conclusions yet but he's definitely going to need to improve later in the year and over the off-season. Pitiful display.

I find it sad we seem to care so much about it on a casual internet forum. :trink39:

Normaly I give guys at least a year before calling them a bust. But this guy has not shown much. I am really concerned we used a high pick on him over another skill position. I hope he pulls it together, but I don't think he will. Hopefully I am wrong.

Sorry about the typo. Funning how I forgot the "I." No I in team. Anyway the subject matter is "Milliner" not my lack of computer skills. lol While he is a rookie, there is no steady improvement week to week. If there was I don't think Rex would be pulling this guy so quickly. I also believe this player is fragile. Not built to hit or tackle.. Hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't look that way

Its too early to call him a bust, and CB is probably the hardest position for a college player to transition to in the NFL. Its not looking good right now, but there is still time. Draft picks should be judged after 3 years.

But its not just Milliner. Cromartie has been awful this season, injured or not hes been terrible. Luckily we can get out of that contract after the season and save $9.5 mil. This is basically a contract season for him and hes playing awful.

Our psas defense has allowed 15 TD and has only 3 INTs. This might be the worst season for a REx Ryan defense against the pass. If I were the Jets, I would try to sign Jarius Byrd this offseason, get a playmaking FS for the team.

I'm stealing this post from another board.

Quote

Below are the CB's first 4 games their rookie season and season totals

Milliner:
Game 1: 4 receptions, 9 times thrown at, 65 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Game 2: 2 rec, 7 thrown at, 46 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Game 3: 6 rec, 12 thrown at, 52 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
Game 4: 4 rec, 5 thrown at, 108 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Total (5 games): 16 receptions, 35 times thrown at, 45.7% completion %, 271 yards allowed, 16.9 yds per completion, 3 TD, 0 INT, 101.0 QB rating against

Patrick Peterson
Game 1: 7 receptions, 9 times thrown at, 110 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Game 2: 5 rec, 5 thrown at, 66 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Game 3: 1 rec, 2 thrown at, 6 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT
Game 4: 7 rec, 10 thrown at, 94 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Total: 67 receptions, 113 times thrown at, 59.3% completion %, 869 yards allowed, 13.0 yds per completion, 3 TD, 2 INT, 85.0 QB rating against
Notes: Pretty poor numbers for the entire year, didn't seem to improve too much the 2nd half the season

Kareem Jackson
Game 1: 5 receptions, 11 times thrown at, 61 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Game 2: 7 rec, 8 thrown at, 100 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
Game 3: 6 rec, 7 thrown at, 100 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Game 4: 2 rec, 5 thrown at, 17 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
Game 5: 9 rec, 12 thrown at, 148 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Total: 57 receptions, 86 times thrown at, 66.3% completion %, 924 yards allowed, 16.2 yds per completion, 5 TD, 2 INT, 111.8 QB rating against
Notes: I added in his 5th game above. He struggled his first 2 seasons in the NFL, not just his rookie season. Not an elite CB, but certainly a pretty good one right now.

Vontae Davis
Game 1: 4 receptions, 7 times thrown at, 91 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Game 2: 6 rec, 9 thrown at, 125 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Game 3: 1 rec, 2 thrown at, 17 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
Game 4: 7 rec, 10 thrown at, 88 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Total: 49 receptions, 77 times thrown at, 63.6% completion %, 893 yards allowed, 18.2 yds per completion, 7 TD, 4 INT, 112.1 QB rating against
Notes: I used the first 4 games that he started rather than played, since he played in his teams first 6 games but not a lot of snaps, he started from game 7 on.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
Game 1: 5 receptions, 5 times thrown at, 39 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Game 2: 2 rec, 4 thrown at, 94 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Game 3: 5 rec, 7 thrown at, 47 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Game 4: 2 rec, 6 thrown at, 17 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
Total: 46 receptions, 79 times thrown at, 58.2% completion %, 585 yards allowed, 12.9 yds per completion, 7 TD, 4 INT, 90.4 QB rating against
