Chris Johnson signs 2 year deal - http://nyjetsfan.com...showtopic=38339
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) He was at the Knicks/Nets game yesterday
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:36 AM) Idk about the numbers, I read an article that said that the Jets offered a "attractive" deal to Johnson and that it was always a longshot that he would sign yesterday, but the Jets believe the deal is market value for him

The Jets put together a convincing package on Tuesday to him, on and off the field. Now it is up to him. - See more at: http://m.metro.us/ne...h.cFze6cx8.dpuf

Mr_Jet Icon : (Today, 02:34 PM) Well considering they already retired #28 in honor of Curtis Martin, I don't see Johnson wearing #28.
Mr_Jet Icon : (Today, 02:35 PM) Kind of defeats the purpose of retiring a number.
Mr_Jet Icon : (Today, 02:39 PM) But I know he better not wear LaMont Jordan's number. Or I'll be pissed.

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:04 PM) And this draft is loaded at the offensive skill positions
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:04 PM) Hopefully we can get anohter starting WR and starting TE in the draft
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:05 PM) Our offense could be much better than last year
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:05 PM) can't get much worse than what it's been the last 2 years

Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 03:32 PM) still need another WR
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 03:33 PM) so i bet powell barely gets any touches this year and goodson gets cut
azjetfan Icon : (Today, 03:34 PM) Goodson is as good as gone.
azjetfan Icon : (Today, 03:34 PM) With all his legal issues and coming off injury he is done. Possibly even in the NFL
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:39 PM) Powell is average anyways.
Chaos Icon : (Today, 03:39 PM) @ProFootballTalk 5m

Per source, Chris Johnson's two-year deal has a base value of $8 million, with another $1 million available in incentives based on yardage.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:40 PM) He does a lot of things well, but isn't talented enough. Johnson has breakaway ability still and Ivory is man beast running the football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 03:41 PM) We will get another WR in the draft. Even in round 2 you can get a starting WR
azjetfan Icon : (Today, 04:09 PM) I am still standing by my CB in the first round and WR in the second prediction

Ever since we were snubed by Nnamdi Asomugha when he went to Philly Jets fans have smiled as Antonio Cromartie has gotten better and better while Asomugha has fallen out of favor. He was a disaster in Philly and a even bigger failure in San Francisco. However could bringing him into the Jets now make sense??? Asomugha was always considered a system player that the system he played in made him better then he was. However he was Very good in that system maybe no better then in 2008 when he allowed 16 completions and no TDs all year. Now who was the mastermind of the system that made Asomugha that good that year Rob Ryan. Now despite being twin Rex and Rob are not identical their defensive schemes have some differences. However they are both predicated on man to man coverage with pressure on the QB. In Philly he was asked to play way to much zone and in San Fran he was used in the nickle which he is ill equipped for as well. Nnamdi is a big bodied strait line speed CB which lends him to aggressive man to man on the outside. I'm not saying Nnamdi will work out to be a pro-bowler with the Jets but bringing him in for a look is low risk high reward. If he could be half as good as he was in 2008 he would be a huge upgrade over the Millner/ Walls combo we are working with now.

Nnamdi was cut because he can't play. Bringing him in at this point makes little sense unless he's replacing Walls. He's not as good as Cro and he's not as good as Wilson in the slot. It makes a lot more sense to let Milliner keep developing than to shelve him in favor of a 32 year old journey man

How good was Nnamdi to begin with? At his apex, he was playing for a terrible Oakland team and everyone was saying "he's so good, no one throws at him". Then Al Davis gave him that retarded contract and when QBs started throwing on him, suddenly he started bouncing around the league. He went to the Eagles because the Raiders found a loop hole in his contract and then Victor Cruz destroyed him and he's been below average ever since.

You have valid argument with the letting millner develop thing. However our pass defense needs help now If Nnamdi could be the immediate upgrade I think he could be I could see this team going far in the playoffs. Millner will still be used as a sub and his development wont suffer too much

The problem with all this is that Nnamdi has zero upside. At this point, you're hoping he's basically "average". You don't yo-yo around a highly drafted rookie for "average". You live with Milliner's mistakes at this point if you're the Jets.

F*ck no! You are not forgiven.

Go sit in the corner for 15 minutes to think about what you did. Then make a thread and type "Bringing" 500 times so you don't make a terrible mistake like that ever again.
