Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:14 PM) There are some decent FAs I hope we go after, we have like $48 mil in cap space, plus more once we get rid of Chris Johnson and Calvin Pace.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:14 PM) We'll have over $50 mil to spend
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 08:52 PM) sign everyone!!!!

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:17 PM) Cobb isn't leaving the Packers
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:18 PM) I hope we keep Harvin
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 09:28 PM) I like Harvin but I don't think we should pay him that much
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 09:29 PM) but if we can get a WR keep him
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 09:40 PM) idk how cap works sometime
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 09:41 PM) how can Denver have 31 mil in space?
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 09:43 PM) but I guess since they have to pay both Thomas this year that will go fast
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 09:45 PM) and have to pay miller next year
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:20 PM) Are they not counting PEyton Manning?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:22 PM) A lot of their players increase cap hits after this season
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:22 PM) you can work the numbers
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:25 PM) if we release Harvin, we won't get him back most likely. Hes the most dynamic offensive player we have had in a while.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:26 PM) Plus he has no guaranteed money so we can release him at any time for no cap hits. Maybe they can rework his contract, but I hope we keep him
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:26 PM) I think he will awesome in Chan's offense, maybe worth the $10 mil
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:40 PM) We still have to pay Mo too
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:47 PM) yup. We also happen to be in the big years of Mangolds' and Brick's contracts
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:48 PM) Brick either restructures after this season or is released, noway he stays at $14 mil
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:48 PM) I think he does restructure though, can't imagine Brick wanting to play elsewhere. I see him as a career Jet
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:51 PM) need to re-sign Demario Davis and Damon Harrison as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:52 PM) they shouldn't cost much though
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:57 PM) I'd really love to bring in Franklin or Iupati
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:59 PM) Franklin, Iupati, or Boling I would be happy with. We need a good OG.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:59 PM) I think that Oday would be fine as a starter for one spot, he showed promise. Plus it would be a competition between Oday, Winters, and Dozier.

Not talking reality here but this could be cool

http://www.sportsgri...-free-agents/#1

Aqib Talib

Quote

With 23 interceptions in five seasons, Talib is widely considered one the top three defensive backs in football and is dripping swag.

Donte Hitner

Quote

The strong safety is a reliable option in pass coverage and not scared to come up and tackle running backs. He's on pace to finish this season with over 50 tackles.

Jimmy Graham

Quote

The best TE in the game. Maybe the best TE ever. Graham will fetch serious money if Gronk continues to show he's injury prone

Jay Cutler

Quote

A complete asshole who has the nerve to leave Chicago, Cutler is one of the league's top pure passers, and he's probably sick of playing at the run-friendly, frozen, windy, muddy Solider Field.

Golden Tate

Quote

Tate has emerged as a legit second option WR in the NFL, and could be on the move with the return of Percy Harvin.

Eric Decker

Quote

Sure, Peyton Manning can make receiver's numbers look gaudy, but Eric Decker ran a 4.45 40 in 2010 and is a legit down field threat.

I'd draft Marqise Lee or Sammy Watkins in the first rd and even though he's coming off an injury, I would really like to sign Jeremy Maclin. He would come cheap enough and would have something to prove so we wouldn't really have to worry about him cashing out or taking plays off

FA QBs:

Cutler will be out there. But Rivers will be too. I don't think SD is going to give him a Flacco like deal, and he'll get that in the offseason. I'd take Rivers over Cutler. Schaub might be looking to prove himself once again, would come at a lot cheaper than Cutler/Rivers. He signed a 4 year, $62 million extension. Doubt the Texans keep him around.

WRs:
I hope the Jets do the right thing and go balls out to improve this position. Maclin on a one year deal. Nicks on a two year deal (he went into the season looking for a #1 WR deal and at this point, he'll be lucky to get 2 years for $8M). I'd keep Nelson because he's basically a TE.

TE:
If by some grace of got the Saints don't resign him, he's going to break the bank. We will be $50M under the cap. Give him half of it, IDGAF.

LB:
I'd love to bring in that steroid monkey Cushing. Again, two season ending injuries in a row. Should be at a discount. I also believe that Harris will either be cut or will have to restructure. He's the weakest link on the front 7. Gotta give credit where it's due, Pace should be brought back.

CB:
There's no way we can keep Cro with the way he's played and his cap figure at a whopping $14.9M cap hit in 2014. He's either going to take a steep paycut or we need to move on. Talib is going to get PAID. If Woody wouldn't move from $12M for Revis, we're not going to win the Talib sweepstakes. Maybe we draft another DB and go for a guy like Rogers Cromartie. This is going to be an issue.

Safety:
With the lack of playmakers in the secondary, I think this is a point of emphasis in FA in 2014. Byrd would be my #1 choice. I really like Stevie Brown from the Giants. If he can show that he's recovered enough from his injury, he'd be a good signing.

Forgot about Matt Schaub. I think that he would be the most realistic QB to get. I would like a veteran QB because I don't trust the Jets with developing a young one.

David Harris is having a great season, doubt he gets cut. Harris only has a $7 mil cap hit next season and its his last year, I would let that be and ride it out. Wouldn't re-sign him though.

Release Mark Sanchez ($8.3 mil saved), Santonio Holmes ($8.3 mil saved), and Antonio Cromartie ($9.5 mil saved). That is $26.1 mil saved in cap space by cutting jut 3 players.

Sign Matt Schaub, Jeremy Maclin, and Jairus Byrd. Can't forget the massive extension Wilkerson is going to get.

Schaub can't get it done with Andre Johnson and Foster. Lets not get crazy. He's basically turning into Jake Delhomme.

I'm not interested in Schaub. Cutler is a reality. He comes with his own demons though.

We should be able to steal QB David Fales from SJS in the 3rd round. He'd be a top 3 pick if he had any weapons whatsoever, should be this years steal of the draft. I'm completely against bringing in a FA QB.

Why? If you draft this guy in the third and have a FA you can play whichever is better. If we dont bring in a FA and go with what we have we will have nothing to fall back on. Seems like common sense to me.

Reminds me of Nick Foles who I loved coming out.

Good shout.

I should have clarified. I mean high priced FA QB like Cutler. I'm all for bringing in some journeyman type QB to compete with the young guys.
