The disappointing second season of Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill has come to a premature end.
The Jets announced they placed last yearís second-round pick on injured reserve because of knee problems.
Hill had just 24 catches for 342 yards this season, which is actually an improvement over his rookie year. Granted, heís not in the best situation to flash receiving talent, but heís also been part of the problem.
Hill hasnít justified the move up to take him with the 43rd overall pick, and has fallen well short of the size-speed-alma mater comparisons to Calvin Johnson the Jets made when they took him.
Of course, itís not like the Jets passed on anyone useful with that pick, so itís not as if they have regrets.
