MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 06:49 PM) Well it's only pre season but I don't enjoy watching them walk right over our defense
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:20 PM) Looks like nothing has changed from the last 5 years. Our offense is still trash
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:50 PM) Damn petty has a rocket arm!
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:54 PM) Kellen Davis sucks
Mr_Jet Icon : (22 August 2015 - 12:40 PM) Bryce Petty looked really good last night.
azjetfan Icon : (22 August 2015 - 04:56 PM) He took some big steps from week one. There is no question. If he continues to progress like that we may be chanting for him sooner than expected. I love his arm.
azjetfan Icon : (22 August 2015 - 06:56 PM) Sanchez looks like Drew Bree's today
MikeGangGree... Icon : (25 August 2015 - 01:24 PM) WOOOOOOOO Ric Flair!
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 August 2015 - 01:45 PM) The guy in the fantasy league who said we're scared of Santana... is clearly santana.
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 August 2015 - 01:45 PM) just sayin
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 August 2015 - 01:45 PM) im only half serious
santana Icon : (27 August 2015 - 09:30 AM) Also i suspect that santana
santana Icon : (27 August 2015 - 09:30 AM) might be santana
santana Icon : (27 August 2015 - 01:35 PM) Tough draw for Liverpool
Jetsman05 Icon : (27 August 2015 - 02:21 PM) Suarez second best in Europe... pretty good
SoReALSoJetS Icon : (29 August 2015 - 06:11 PM) anybody know a stream for it?
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 August 2015 - 06:49 AM) WOOOOO
Smedsthejet Icon : (30 August 2015 - 11:10 AM) Jets just announced first 12 players to be released:
Smedsthejet Icon : (30 August 2015 - 11:10 AM) T. J. Graham, Saalim Hakim, Austin Hill, DeVier Posey, Jonathon Rumph (WRs), Matt LaCosse (TE), James Brewer, Dalton Freeman (OL), Bryan Johnson (LB), Javier Arenas, Curtis Brown, Keith Lewis (DBs)
Smedsthejet Icon : (30 August 2015 - 11:11 AM) A little surprised that Posey is gone in this first batch of moves, but then we did have a glut of WRs
ganggreen2003 Icon : (30 August 2015 - 07:50 PM) Any word on Leonard Williams injury?
azjetfan Icon : (30 August 2015 - 11:49 PM) He will be ready week 1. Just a sprain
Jetsfan115 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 10:33 AM) so we whooped the giants ass pretty badly
Jetsfan115 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 10:38 AM) bills cut fred jackson
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 12:29 PM) We got lucky with Williams
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 12:30 PM) Hes looked like a beast as well, so we need him healthy. Hes gonna be a future all pro
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 12:31 PM) Our offense can be competent this season
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 12:33 PM) Zac Stacy was a good add
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 01:46 PM) I'm surprised Freeman was cut, I thought he was a solid backup center. Guess they like Wesley Johnson better
Jetsfan115 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 01:58 PM) our offense is passable. we should put up 14-17 a game average
Jetsfan115 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 01:58 PM) should be enough for our Defense. our d-line is nasty with wilk, rich, snacks, and now williams
Jetsfan115 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 01:59 PM) out MLBs get picked on in coverage though. davis had a rough game
Jetsfan115 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 01:59 PM) our Cbs are way too good. cro revis and skrine. plus mcdougle looked solid. when milliner comes back, him being a dime back could be huge too
Jetsman05 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 02:24 PM) 17 points a game is "passable"? If we average 17 a game this season, we won't win more than 5 ball games.
Jetsman05 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 02:24 PM) Needs to be 20+
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 05:33 PM) Our offense should be better than its been in years
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (31 August 2015 - 05:34 PM) which wouldn't take much
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:03 PM) another ex jet going to the pats http://theredzone.or...ms/Default.aspx
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 PM) our defense should allow an average of less then 14 a game IMO. If we can average 17 a agme I think we can win 9-10
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:25 PM) Jace Amaro was put on IR, torn labrum.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:26 PM) That sucks, I was looking forward to him at TE
ROBJETS Icon : (Yesterday, 07:24 PM) Labrum tear....definitely out for the year. Its not a bad surgery. I used the sling for about a week before I ditched it completely. Supposed to use it for a full 6 weeks. You can get away without it but just have to be careful not raising or moving your arm much and no lifting of pretty much anything. As far as fully healing ....6 mon ths minimum but for lifting heavy and full contact sports I wouldnt trust 6 months
ROBJETS Icon : (Yesterday, 07:31 PM) Still not that bad of a surgery on a pain scale. after a few days it mostly just aches like hell. ice and keeping your arm still is important. sleeping is major hard for the first 3 weeks or so. You wake up in pain a god bit. Id be dreaming and jerk my right arm up or move it wrong or lay on it wrong and wake up in major pain. still I liked t better without the sling than being completely immobile with one arm and healed just fine. He will come back from it fine
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:37 PM) sucks we lost Amaro for the season

just wondering what you guys think the jets should do in the draft?

should they go all offense? or best player available even if it's defense?

trade up early? trade down for more pics?

Trade down unless the brass thinks that Geno isn't the future. Go BPA regardless of position.

I'm with SHJ on going with best pick available. The FO doesn't need to force any picks. The team can do with upgrades everywhere aside from the d-line.

I think it depends on what we do in FA. If we sign a WR and a TE and keep our current guys then BPO. If we do not we need to go BPO offense.

Well, thats a VIABLE option, cause he hasnt shown any growth in 2 years as WR. Honestly, would LOVE to see if he COULD make that switch if he can be the elite WR we thought his size & speed would make him.

I think if we can get ELITE talent @WR, (& I HATE the thought of trading pics) I would be willing to make a move up but ONLY for a sure shot. I know nothing is guaranteed, but Austin...ya, the rams hosed us good getting in front of us for him. We do need speed rushing LB, Corner (even if cro returns to top flight play) cause we have too much uncertainty @ corner, other than that, my PRIORITY is WR! Holmes is to inconsistent, hurt, & NOT leadership material Ditch his ass, LOVE JSmooth (Kerley is younger Cotchary) so it is our biggest need.

I guess I am just a fool, cause I LOVE our RBs~! Ivory was a MONSTER running the ball, Powell is feeling himself & steadily improving. (No clue bout goodson cause he has been ninja, but least he is cheap)

I wouldnt MIND gettin a RT & LG...

eric ebron te. from unc. is good at pic 18.

Sammy Watkins wr. may be gone.

mike evans wr. and marquise lee wr. may be available but the te at 18 may be the better value because of the depth at wr. in the draft.

also lee's health may be an issue and evans is a loose cannon at times, but both are talented.

Agree with SHJ as well. Bad teams draft by position. Good ones take the best available player. With our cap space so good, we should sign our own players who we want to retain (Howard, Folk, Colon, maybe Pace), extend Wilkerson, and use the balance to buy position players we don't get in the draft. Sure would love to buy Jarius Byrd or Grimes/Talib. And we need a guard badly.

Only issue would be if the best on our board when our turn comes is a defensive lineman in which case we look to trade down and if that fails, then and only then possibly skip to the next player on the list who isn't on the defensive line.

Kelvin Benjamin from Fla. St. would be a good addition if Evans and Watkins are off by the time we draft but Ebron, the TE would be huge for us. He is potentially another Vernon Davis.

Kelvin Benjamin**, WR, Florida State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 234.
Projected 40 Time: 4.55.

vs.

Eric Ebron*, TE, North Carolina
Height: 6-4. Weight: 245.
Projected 40 Time: 4.65.

I m taking Kelvin Benjamin over Ebron because Benjamin has created matchup problems all year versus the opposing team's corners and safteies ( Watch BCS Game), Red zone security blanket for Winston (Imagine what Geno can do throwing the ball to Benjamin?), Runs consistently good routes, great at catching the football at its high point, Benjamin would be a great compliment to Kerley and David Nelson and has been under the radar due to the large amount of talent at WR in this year's draft.

So we take Johnny Football if he is there? I watched his highlight s on YouTube and I just don't know if he will be as effective in the NFL. Didn't he also have some really poor choices last year?

I'm not sold one bit on Geno and i know we won't be drafting his replacement so we need the best free agent QB we can get our hands on... I can't take 1 TD & 20 int's again...

We won't have any shot at Watkins. He will go in the top 7. As usual, we won the games we were better off losing. But with the 18th pick we have no shot at Manziel or Bortles who would have been my first choice. We should be able to choose from Evans, Ebron, Amaro, Benjamin, Lee. I like the TE route because there are so many WR's this year and we can also buy one in free agency.

We do need a CB, G, OLB, S. We may be able to get 2 of them in free agency if we have $40 million to start with. If we come out with a WR, G and CB in free agency and we can draft a WR, TE, OLB and S we might just surprise teams next year.

That is if Geno can improve his play dramatically which I'm dubious about.

What's the point of playing for the draft? A team predicted to win 3 games won 8 and had a solid chance at the playoffs going into the bye. Compete in every game during the season and go BPA during the draft.

I am going to try to be nice here . . . If you go back and read my post, you will see that I put "no matter the cost." that was my acknowledging the obvious that Sammy Watkins will go well before 18 and we will need to trade up. Sorry if that phrase wasn't a clear indication of my intentions.

As for Manziel, he isn't a NFL qb. He runs in circles, NFL defenders are too fast for that, and chucks it up in the middle of the field, a cardinal sin for qbs, but he gets away with it because its college and he has 6'5" receivers all over. those are his "highlight plays." He won't do that in the NFL and even if he shows flashes of brilliance, the best he can hope for is a Mike Vick Career where he has one or two flashy years and then the hits accumulate and he cant stay healthy. He is NOT an NFL qb.

As far as drafting a qb in the first round, why? Forget anything to do with Geno Smith for a second and tell me who this rookie 1st rounder would be throwing to? We need weapons, desperately! Kerely is a playmaker in the slot, but when that's all you have it's not hard to take away. Nelson is nice on 3rd downs and red zone but we need a consistent playmaker that can get open and scare D coordinators. RB is solid. Our o-line is fine, they had a whole year to gell and one was a rookie, and our run game isn't bad at all. But none of that matters when other teams stack the box and can play 1-1 coverage without worrying about a thing. We need someone who can move the ball and make plays, hence suggestion to trade up for Sammy Watkins. If Mr. A & M WR fell to 18 that would be great, but even with the depth at wr this year I don't want to take a chance. Watkins has been a beast since his freshman year. Get the guy that runs great routes, has great hands, and can make plays in numerous ways. get him the ball in some way, and he will make the play. That is EXACTLY what we need. Sign a guy like Jeremy Maclin in free agency to compliment that, and we might have something.

But a 1st round pick on a TE would ALMOST be a waste. We need someone on the outsides. Unless we signed two major guys I'd prefer to get a promising outside guy before a TE.
