Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:22 PM) He has more upside for a 7th rounder than anyone else
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:22 PM) He can start right away at RT
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:29 PM) He said he won't sign
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:32 PM) so he doesn't want to be drafted?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:33 PM) If Collins doesn't get drafted, he can't enter next years draft. He can only if he is drafted and sits out. So I guess he has to go undrafted
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:41 PM) going undrafted makes the most sense for collins
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:41 PM) but for teams, drafting him and dealing with his holdout makes more sense
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:19 PM) Zac Stacy was traded to us for our 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:21 PM) Jets also drafted a NT with our other 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:21 PM) 6'4 330 DL who is very strong
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:25 PM) zac stacy for a 7th
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:25 PM) well can't complain about that
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:29 PM) So we have 4 rbs now
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:31 PM) still would have rather taken a runner on collins but i can't complain with depth
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:32 PM) i mean they can't expect to carry 4 rb though no?
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:50 PM) Collins would have been a waste. He would not have signed. At least we have something to show for our pick. Worst case scenario is we trade or release one of our backs.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:56 PM) I know it's hard to tell without seeing a win loss record yet but this regime seems really on point.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:56 PM) For the first time in my life I can say I feel comfortable with the people making the decisions.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:57 PM) I was close with Parcells but he seemed like a short term fixer and didn't care about the long term
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 06:57 PM) SUCK FOR THE DUCK
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 06:57 PM) .......oh wait
santana Icon : (03 May 2015 - 01:13 AM) Well that was a disappointment
Chadforpresi... Icon : (03 May 2015 - 01:24 AM) I like getting Stacy for our 7th rounder, assuming he can handle the fact he won't be a feature back (yikes)
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:31 AM) I like the trade, hes a quality back and adds more depth to our backfield
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:32 AM) Macc has pretty much killed it this offseason
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:32 AM) He has turned this roster around, he has added talent and competition all over.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:33 AM) We still aren't great at QB, but our overall football team is good. We have a realistic shot at making a playoff run
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:33 AM) We may have the best defense in football. We have a great DL and secondary, that is gonna be tough on offenses when you can stop the run, pressure the QB, and blanket the receivers
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:23 PM) ok now it's time for this team to take all this talent and do something anything below a 10-6 season will be a disappointment
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:24 PM) the only still glaring issue is QB
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:25 PM) we got the WR problem solved, we got probably one of the best Defenses in the game and we have addressed the OL but QB will still be the glaring issue
Chaos Icon : (04 May 2015 - 09:34 AM) jets cleaning house
azjetfan Icon : (04 May 2015 - 05:57 PM) I'm excited about this year. Could be a good year for the Jets.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (04 May 2015 - 07:32 PM) weird how they cleaned house in the scouting department after such a successful draft and off-season so far
azjetfan Icon : (04 May 2015 - 07:36 PM) I assume they didn't bring much to the table
santana Icon : (04 May 2015 - 08:41 PM) Have to clean the table
santana Icon : (04 May 2015 - 09:08 PM) Fuck the rangers
santana Icon : (04 May 2015 - 09:08 PM) face off dominated holtby gtfo
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (04 May 2015 - 09:18 PM) La'el Collins is meeting with Rex Ryan tonight
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 12:31 AM) FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH!
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 05:41 AM) Damn that'd make up for the Bills not having a first rounder
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 10:59 AM) They didn't sign him yet. It's just a visit.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 01:49 PM) Uefa time
ROBJETS Icon : (Yesterday, 11:56 PM) Not sure if anyone saw this on the MSN home page but might be something worth looking into for the offensive line

NFL to penalize use of racial slur

The head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, which monitors diversity in the NFL, expects the league to institute a rule where players would be penalized 15 yards for using the N-word on the field.

John Wooten, the head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, anticipates that the NFL's competition committee will enact the rule at the owners' meeting next month.

"We did talk about it, I'm sure that you saw near the end of the year that Fritz Pollard (Alliance) came out very strong with the message that the league needs to do something about the language on the field," said Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, who is on the league's competition committee. "So we did discuss over the last three days."

Newsome also said the committee talked about other slurs coming under any possible new rule, including homophobic slurs.

Wooten, who previously has urged all players to stop using the N-word, thinks the NFL will rule an automatic 15-yard penalty for first-time offenders and an ejection for second infractions.

"I will be totally shocked if the competition committee does not uphold us on what we're trying to do," Wooten said, according to CBSSports.com. "We want this word to be policed from the parking lot to the equipment room to the locker room.

"Secretaries, PR people, whoever, we want it eliminated completely and want it policed everywhere."

Wooten thinks the competition committee will officially agree to the rule next month before presenting it to the owners.

"I think they're going to do what needs to be done here," he said. "There is too much disrespect in the game."

The competition committee meets for several days in Naples, Fla. next week, where they will decide what will be presented to owners at league meetings in March.

"We will now go down to Naples starting next Friday and spend more time talking about it,'' Newsome said. "We had some officials in our meeting that actually out there on the field and hear the language. We'll be able to put all that together and if there's a need to we will present something to our owners in Orlando.

"With any rule that we put into play we have to look at it from A to Z and find out any unintended consequences as much as the consequences. So, as it was stated in our meeting, there are mics everywhere, so if something has been said it's probably going to be captured somewhere. So there will be an opportunity to get it verified if we have to.'"

My whole thing with this though is how are you really going to enforce it? Also if you do it for the n-word shouldn't it be done for every racial term that offends every group of people, ever ? Besides, I find it hypocritical that they would put this into effect while "Redskin" is still out there in the league. If they want to deal with any players or personnel individually that say it then I can get behind that, I suppose. I also find it peculiar that the NFL things that with all the negative history that word has over hundreds of years that a 15 yard penalty is supposed to make some sort of amends. I'm black, I don't condone the use of the word, I think it's an ugly word, but there are just way too many things I see not going right from this

White people are probably Britain's most enduring export!

This rule change should really already be there. Surely it's already covered under 'unsportsmanlike conduct'?

I think now with the increased number of cameras and microphones on the field now more than ever, this is the NFL's way of trying to clean up the language on the field. They probably want to "mic up" the players more and catch more of the player's on the field conversations. Which is why they are penalizing the word's use on the field but not penalizing its use in the locker room. But it wouldn't surprise me if the NFL officials themselves complained about the over use of that word on the field. I mean for some black people that word is like every other word that comes out of their mouths. They can't even complete a sentence without using the word. We've gotten to a point now that some non-black people use that word towards everybody. Because they too have bought into that bullshit argument of "if you say it with an "a" at the end it's a different word." That's just an excuse a few rappers made up years ago when they were confronted about using it to justify their continued use of the word.

Now we have a new generation of people coming up who have grown up believing that "different word/term of endearment/taking the hate out" nonsense. That alone shows that the people who use the word can't even agree on why the word is okay to use. I mean yeah my grandparent's generation and the generations before them used that word too. But not as much as some black people today. And they didn't try to justify it by saying dumb shit like "when we use the word we're taking the hate out of it." They damn sure didn't use it in school or in the work place when there were people of different races around them. Plus I've notice that when I'm in public that it does make some older white people uncomfortable when they hear black people using it. Not everybody is trying to hear that or wants to hear it. I mean I use profanity everyday, multiple times a day. But I also know how to control myself and not use it too. Especially if there may be people around who I might think don't want to hear that kind of language. It's just a sign of showing respect towards your community. Now with the NFL trying to be a family friendly and non-offensive business, they're going to try to do their best to get rid of negative elements in the game. The Riley Cooper and Ritchie Incognito incidents were black eyes for the league. But I think there are plenty of people of all races who work in and around the NFL who are tired of hearing that word, and this is the NFL's way of telling their mostly young, black players to not use that word in the workplace.

But of course as we all know they still have a team called the "Washington Redskins" right now. But hey they shouldn't have to change that nickname because it's been around for years and a few Native-Americans are okay with the name. So that makes it all okay of course. Though I doubt the 1% of Native-Americans left in America go around calling themselves "redskins."

Goodell has 44 million reasons to not say anything about changing the name of the "Redskins."

It'll be great to hear the reaction when a team loses a game in the last seconds due to a 15 yard "racial slur" penalty. I agree with you on the "mic up" marketing side Mr_Jet. Didn't even consider that in the role of this. Money talks again.

This is obviously more P.C. bull$hit simply because of how much is being picked up with the Mic'd Up segments. At the same time, they're likely going to include any homophobic remarks as well with what's his name coming into the league as the first "openly gay" player. But yeah.....there's going to be some hell to pay when a remark will end up costing someone a game. 15 yard for 1st offense & ejection for a second? That's pretty damn serious depending on who the player is. 9 times out of 10 it'll be a Defensive player getting nailed for it, but I guess we'll see.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!

The solution is simple... The players have to unify and adopt "black skin" into their slang for this up coming year. See how much of a shit storm that creates.

No, you have use "African-American" as a term of endearment. Or spell it with an "a" at the end of it. Then it's an entirely different word.

It has already started. Chairman Biden told me yesterday that they have already started building the underground concentration camps to hold the offenders in.

So...be worried.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.
