"It's like going from Alcatraz to Dorney Park."
It is better to destroy than create what is meaningless, so the picture will not be finished.

The New York Jets will welcome Michael Vick into their building Friday. Could a high-profile former teammate come up in conversation?
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the Jets are among the teams that have inquired about Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, according to a source informed of the process. Vick is close with Jackson, adding an interesting wrinkle to the situation.

The Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders also are interested in Jackson, Rapoport reported, per sources with knowledge of the process.
As Gregg Rosenthal pointed out in our breakdown of potential DJax landing spots, the wide receiver would make some sense for the Jets. After all, the Jets were believed to be extremely interested in drafting Tavon Austin last April before the St. Louis Rams jumped in front of them to grab the speedy former West Virginia star.
Jackson is a similarly dynamic talent who can add a much needed shot of adrenaline to a Jets offense that's been sputtering for years. Adding Eric Decker was a necessity. Importing Vick and Jackson could make the New York Jets -- gasp -- potentially imposing on offense.
When's the last time you could say that?
The latest "Around The League Podcast" breaks down DeSean Jackson trade rumors and tries to figure out who will be next year's Michael Bennett (or Brent Grimes).

Jackson is a playmaker.
Honestly, even if that comes to fruition I would still draft a WR/TE in the first 2 rounds. Would love two of Ebron/Amaro/Matthews/Cooks in that mix too

That would be sick if we had Jackson, Decker, and Kerley at WR and drafted Eric Ebron at TE.

@MMehtaNYDN: Could Jets be in hunt for DeSean Jackson? Source tells me: "Philly is trading him or cutting him. That's a fact. They don't want him" #nyj
@MMehtaNYDN: DeSean Jackson may not be interested in taking a paycut, but he'll likely have no choice. Hard to imagine a team taking on that contract.

Being one of the top receivers in the league and yet Philly still wants him gone. That isn't a good sign.Says the guy is possibly a time bomb waiting to happen. With NY media if Jackson was here and caused problems it could destroy the whole locker room.

49ers have denied interest.
Panthers can't afford him.
Jets don't want to trade a pick for him.
Seems more and more likely that DJax might be cut if the Eagles really want to get rid of him but there are still 6 weeks or so to go until the draft.

Let it ride. If the Eagles would rather cut him than take a 4th than so be it. Maybe we can pick him up in FA. You know Vick would be all over the recruiting. Probably would be cheaper and not cost us a pick.

After speaking with Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly, wide receiver DeSean Jackson told some teammates he is staying with the team, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday.
Multiple reports earlier indicated the Eagles planned to trade or cut Jackson.
The latest twist comes one day after Jackson spoke with Kelly, a source told The Inquirer.
Early Tuesday morning, Jackson posted on Instagram and Twitter a picture showing a laughing Kelly chasing him last season during practice.
Jackson tweeted: "Good to Talk to BIg Chip today !! Say or hear what ya want !! The Picture speaks for itself !! Winner..."
Kelly is scheduled to meet with reporters at the NFL owners meetings in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday.
For weeks, the possibility of Jackson's departure from the Eagles seemed to grow with each day and each report. Last week, media outlets reported the Eagles were actively shopping the Pro Bowl receiver. There were reports that the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks had expressed some interest in Jackson.
"He's still under contract for us," Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told reporters Monday. "And until there's anything to report on our players, that's where we are now."
Jackson had a career year in 2013 with 82 receptions for 1,332 receiving yards and tied his NFL-best with nine touchdown catches.
Jackson's attitude and contract, not his performance, are the issues that could prevent his return to the franchise that drafted him in the second round of the 2008 draft.
A gamebreaker who can also return punts, Jackson averages 17.2 yards per catch in six seasons.
Scheduled to earn as much as $10.7 million next season -- $10.5 million base salary and a $200,000 workout bonus -- teams interested in Jackson might be willing to wait for the Eagles to release him to avoid picking up the final three years of the five-year, $47 million contract he signed in 2012.
