Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 05:05 PM) salas shouldn't be on an NFL roster. #4 WR is a bit generous
santana Icon : (Today, 06:00 PM) extending kerley is a great move. i could see another team poaching him off the roster real fast.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 06:17 PM) Salas isn't that bad, hes made some plays for us this season.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 06:17 PM) You know who shouldn't be on a NFL roster, Salim Hakim. IDK why hes still on the Jets, he was TERRIBLE at KR and has no value as a WR. Waste of a roster spot IMO
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 06:18 PM) Percy Harvin will be our KR now, I would imagine. Hes electric at it
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 06:48 PM) yeah hakim is another one i don't understand. he is even attempting to play WR and got benched at KR

Yes, though you may think he's holmes 2.0, he's healthy and can run routes. I know QB is still shady, it can improve with talents around Geno. With the RB's and decker, Desean can be a great asset to us.

We have multiple 4th round picks int he draft so yes, you give that up for Desean. He's an upgrade at the position and gives us a decent route runner that still has speed. If they're only looking for a 3rd or 4th rounder for him, then it's pretty much a no brainer that there won't be some huge contract. Decker, Jackson, Kerley, Nelson & Salas. Not the greatest WR Corps but certainly not the worst. That lineup would help Geno and get us moving the chains. I still think we need to include Nelson in the game plan more often to take advantage of his size at 6'5".
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

Said yes. We need to start filling holes and bringing him in would turn our WR need into a strength. Then we could focus on OL TE Secondary and OLB in the draft.

DeSean Jackson interests N.Y. Jets, Panthers, Raiders

The New York Jets will welcome Michael Vick into their building Friday. Could a high-profile former teammate come up in conversation?

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the Jets are among the teams that have inquired about Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, according to a source informed of the process. Vick is close with Jackson, adding an interesting wrinkle to the situation.

The Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders also are interested in Jackson, Rapoport reported, per sources with knowledge of the process.

As Gregg Rosenthal pointed out in our breakdown of potential DJax landing spots, the wide receiver would make some sense for the Jets. After all, the Jets were believed to be extremely interested in drafting Tavon Austin last April before the St. Louis Rams jumped in front of them to grab the speedy former West Virginia star.

Jackson is a similarly dynamic talent who can add a much needed shot of adrenaline to a Jets offense that's been sputtering for years. Adding Eric Decker was a necessity. Importing Vick and Jackson could make the New York Jets -- gasp -- potentially imposing on offense.

When's the last time you could say that?

The latest "Around The League Podcast" breaks down DeSean Jackson trade rumors and tries to figure out who will be next year's Michael Bennett (or Brent Grimes).

Report: Jets Join Patriots, 49ers In DeSean Jackson Trade Talks by John Beattie on Thu, Mar 20, 2014 at 5:45PM Share this: Fancred The New York Jets are welcoming Michael Vick for a visit Friday, but the quarterback might not be the only former Philadelphia Eagle donning a Gang Green uniform in 2014. DeSean Jackson, who’s reportedly being shopped by the Eagles this offseason, is drawing interest from the Jets, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday. A recent report out of Philly indicated that the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers also are inquiring about the wide receiver, who’s on the books for $10.5 million next season. Rapoport notes that Vick and Jackson “are close,” meaning the Jets could be favorites to land the star wideout should the quarterback join Rex Ryan’s club.

Honestly, even if that comes to fruition I would still draft a WR/TE in the first 2 rounds. Would love two of Ebron/Amaro/Matthews/Cooks in that mix too

That would be sick if we had Jackson, Decker, and Kerley at WR and drafted Eric Ebron at TE.

@MMehtaNYDN: Source: Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, scheduled to make $10.5M this yr, isn't interested in restructuring his deal.Jets reportedly inquired #nyj

@MMehtaNYDN: Could Jets be in hunt for DeSean Jackson? Source tells me: "Philly is trading him or cutting him. That's a fact. They don't want him" #nyj

@MMehtaNYDN: DeSean Jackson may not be interested in taking a paycut, but he'll likely have no choice. Hard to imagine a team taking on that contract.

The guy is a play maker no doubt but is he worth all the trouble? I'm not so sure.

Being one of the top receivers in the league and yet Philly still wants him gone. That isn't a good sign.Says the guy is possibly a time bomb waiting to happen. With NY media if Jackson was here and caused problems it could destroy the whole locker room.

Seahawks have denied interest.
49ers have denied interest.
Panthers can't afford him.
Jets don't want to trade a pick for him.
Raiders...?

Seems more and more likely that DJax might be cut if the Eagles really want to get rid of him but there are still 6 weeks or so to go until the draft.

@DYST_Now: Word is Jets are willing to give Tampa Bay's 4th round draft pick and their 5th rounder for DeSean Jackson. Eagles aren't biting though.

Let it ride. If the Eagles would rather cut him than take a 4th than so be it. Maybe we can pick him up in FA. You know Vick would be all over the recruiting. Probably would be cheaper and not cost us a pick.

After speaking with Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly, wide receiver DeSean Jackson told some teammates he is staying with the team, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday.

Multiple reports earlier indicated the Eagles planned to trade or cut Jackson.

The latest twist comes one day after Jackson spoke with Kelly, a source told The Inquirer.

Early Tuesday morning, Jackson posted on Instagram and Twitter a picture showing a laughing Kelly chasing him last season during practice.

Jackson tweeted: "Good to Talk to BIg Chip today !! Say or hear what ya want !! The Picture speaks for itself !! Winner..."

Kelly is scheduled to meet with reporters at the NFL owners meetings in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday.

For weeks, the possibility of Jackson's departure from the Eagles seemed to grow with each day and each report. Last week, media outlets reported the Eagles were actively shopping the Pro Bowl receiver. There were reports that the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks had expressed some interest in Jackson.

"He's still under contract for us," Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told reporters Monday. "And until there's anything to report on our players, that's where we are now."

Jackson had a career year in 2013 with 82 receptions for 1,332 receiving yards and tied his NFL-best with nine touchdown catches.

Jackson's attitude and contract, not his performance, are the issues that could prevent his return to the franchise that drafted him in the second round of the 2008 draft.

A gamebreaker who can also return punts, Jackson averages 17.2 yards per catch in six seasons.

Scheduled to earn as much as $10.7 million next season -- $10.5 million base salary and a $200,000 workout bonus -- teams interested in Jackson might be willing to wait for the Eagles to release him to avoid picking up the final three years of the five-year, $47 million contract he signed in 2012.
