ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:29 PM) At least we didn't go QB again
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:30 PM) You mean GHOSTon
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:31 PM) Not f***ing happy

MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:31 PM) if I'm wrong I will eat m crow
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:39 PM) Some mocks had him top 10
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:42 PM) this guy is small
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:45 PM) Most mocks had Lee at 17 to the Falcons
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:45 PM) He's a day 1 starter for us. We've needed OLB forever
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:46 PM) Plus we generate a great rush from wilk rich and Williams
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:50 PM) I wanted Lawson bad
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:50 PM) f***ing bills
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:51 PM) Lee fills a need better
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:52 PM) I would have liked tunsil to slide to us though. After east picking great
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:52 PM) Would you take Lee over Lawson?
azjetfan Icon : (28 April 2016 - 09:55 PM) I'm not inspire by that pick. Not even a little
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:01 PM) Wasn't an option. Lawson was gone
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:02 PM) Lawson is more of a de. We already have too many of those. We only have 1 proven LBer and he's 32 and we run a 3-4. Lee is a day 1 starter
Jetsfan115 Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:03 PM) Broncos traded up for lynch
MikeGangGree... Icon : (28 April 2016 - 10:41 PM) Round 1 is done
2JBallar01 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:43 AM) He will play ILB for us.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:08 AM) http://nyjetsfan.com...showtopic=38865
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:19 AM) jets tried to trade up for tunsil but the price was too high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:10 PM) Tunsil will end up out of the league
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:12 PM) Lee isn't a pass rusher, hes a fast athletic LB. Hes probably their future at ILB, someone who can cover in the middle
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:16 PM) jets said he's an ILB for us
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:17 PM) If we could grab jack he would be an OLB
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:17 PM) ttians have 3 picks in the next 13 picks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:33 PM) jack to jax 36th overal
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:33 PM) Did you hear that the 1st round pick for the Browns RETIRED after getting drafted
SoReALSoJetS Icon : (Yesterday, 07:29 PM) Hi guys long time no talk hope everyone is well
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 07:46 PM) SMH
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:46 PM) JETS drafted QB Hackenberg PSU
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 07:47 PM) Should have picked Connor Cook.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 PM) I guess we are giving up on petty
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:02 PM) Or giving up on geno
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:02 PM) I said the rumor was they liked him more then cook
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 11:35 PM) I know I'm biased, but I've seen them both play. Cook is just better. Hackenberg had one good year. Cook has won more games, played in big games and won them....whatever, its done now so no sense on dwelling on it I guess. I just don't see the appeal in Hackenberg, nice kid, but I always thought he was really overrated. Oh well. I would have taken Kevin Hogan over Hackenberg.
azjetfan Icon : (Today, 03:47 PM) From what I have read so far he had a great freshman year under Obrien in a pro style offense. At that point some considered him the next Andrew luck. Then Obrien left and they shifted to a spread under new HC who did poor job bringing in talent. He was also sacked and hit a million times. Might be shell shocked.

@JeffDarlington: You thought @NFL Draft was already a big event? Roger Goodell told me today league will consider stretching it to 4 days (still 7 rounds).

@JeffDarlington:Goodell told me he's unsure if NFL Draft will remain in May or go back to April. League is considering many options, both for date & place.

No. Just no. Three days is bad enough. AND move the damn thing back to April!

I'm surprised he didn't introduce a new football design yet. At least it took Stern 20+ years to turn the NBA into a circus.

The Thursday and Friday night part sucks for me. Thursdays are usually Chamber events and Fridays are always my kids baseball games.

The good thing with Goodell is that a lot of his daft proposals that get aired - such as the 18 game schedule - have yet to be implemented and appear unlikely to be so. The bad thing is he keeps coming up with them.

This wouldn't be a revenue spinner and would no way be a hit on TV.

Agreed with moving it back to April. There is absolutely no reason to have it in May, besides making us wait 2 extra f***ing weeks! The draft being the last Thursday-Saturday of April is when it should be, we should be on day 2 of the draft today!! Stop making changes for the sake of change, the draft was fine the way it was.

Does it really matter?

Unless you are a die hard that watches every day every single hour who cares? I sure dont. Its not like whether its 2 days, 4 days, or 10 days its not going to make much difference until we get to see them practice and play.

Id say 99.99% of NFL fans watch the first and second rounds and some the third and then just turn the channel and check in occasionally. Anyone that is glued to ESPN for 6 or 7 rounds all day multiple days has issues and no life.

I just hope the Jets get a legit high level all pro safety some day so we dont keep getting burned in the middle every single year even when we have good corners. Its getting old getting owned in the passing game every year.

Not true, just because you aren't that into the draft doesn't mean people who are are losers.

And I don't get the last comment because the Jets have had a top pass defense every year besides last year under Rex.

WHAT?!?

Obviously you aren't watching the same game I am or you are looking to much in to the overall yards. Yards given up in a game isn't a true gauge of a defense. The Jets Have been owned in the middle by qbs from 2011 on. The corners are doing their jobs but the safeties and back up corners in nickle and dime offense have not. Its not about the overall yards. Its more about the fact that the Jets have struggled constantly struggled to get off the field on 3rd down and 99% of the time it has been a passing completion somewhere in the middle of the field. The Jets have given up a lot of 3rd and longs for first downs in passing.

Here is proof what I'm talking about.

Jets passing defensive points given up rank

2009 1st
2010 6th
2011 20th
2012 20th
2013 19th

Since 2011 on the Jets have been pretty sh*tty as far as passing points given up. If you want to look at the overall total yards as a gauge of the Jets defense then by all means its your prerogative. To me that's fantasy land sh*t because overall yards means nothing.

Its no different from an offense being #1 in the league in yards but being near the bottom of the league in tds. In the end its about scoring not yards. As far as me I could give a rats a$$ if the Jets were last in the league in yards as long as they stopped the scoring. The corners have been doing their jobs pretty well so as I stated the middle is the issue. Being 20th,20th,and 19th the last three years in passing points given up is bad.

I dont know if the FO is doing the same thing and looking at the overall yards but I hope not. The middle of the field needs to be addressed. Three years being 20th in the league in passing points given up. The streak will continue to cost the Jets games until the Jets get better help in the middle of the field.

The Jets have actually ranked among the best in 3rd down defense since 2009, last year was pretty much the only year they struggled and that was because our entire secondary was bad. Cromartie was getting lit up every week and Milliner was struggling.

The JEts usually ranked among the best in every category in pass rankings. Rex Ryan rarely has had a bad defense vs the pass, only 2 I remember was last year and once in Baltimore when he had a ton of injuries in the back end.

We could use a upgrade at safety, since neither of our safeties are rangy coverage guys. But I am overall still more concerned about the offense, the Jets need to start drafting better there because they haven't drafted a top skill player on offense in a long long time.
