Geno injured, IK cut, Amish Rifle starting - http://nyjetsfan.com...showtopic=38773
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:14 PM) He could throw for 25 TDs if he starts every game
Chaos Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:18 PM) 2009 with a Favre and Rex pairing could have been special
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 August 2015 - 09:20 PM) ok so who thinks geno has played his last game of his JETS career?
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 August 2015 - 09:23 PM) I honestly think his JETS career is knocked out like that right hand by IK
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 August 2015 - 08:50 PM) why the hell can't the JETS ever get it right
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 August 2015 - 08:50 PM) are we doomed for all eternity?
Jetsfan115 Icon : (18 August 2015 - 01:56 PM) kerly might be losing his job to a younger WR
GreenDude Icon : (18 August 2015 - 06:34 PM) We just signed Matt Flynn
santana Icon : (18 August 2015 - 07:02 PM) FLYNNNNSANITYYY
santana Icon : (18 August 2015 - 07:02 PM) hype hype hype
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:31 PM) Which receiver is Kerley losing his job to?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:31 PM) Kerley is still gonna be our slot receiver. Devin Smith is a outside WR, deep threat and hes gonna be out for a bit.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:32 PM) though Brandon Marshall likes playing in the slot at times and does work there
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 01:27 PM) he's apparently battling (and losing to) enuiwa
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 01:28 PM) enunwa^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 02:26 PM) I haven't heard about that
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 02:28 PM) I read how kerley has been uncover able one on one

Smedsthejet Icon : (19 August 2015 - 03:03 PM) Any news on how Shaq Evans is performing?
Jetsfan115 Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:12 AM) http://nypost.com/20...ricks-of-trade/
Jetsfan115 Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:12 AM) sounds like the jets think kerly is too small for what they want
Jetsfan115 Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:13 AM) if enunwa is our 3rd WR that gives us 3 starting Wrs over 6-2. compared to the 5'7 kerly.
RetireChrebet Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:32 PM) Hopefully enunwa pans out. The jets need to start catching talent in he late rounds like most successful teams do.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (21 August 2015 - 03:05 PM) MT did for us
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 06:49 PM) Well it's only pre season but I don't enjoy watching them walk right over our defense
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:20 PM) Looks like nothing has changed from the last 5 years. Our offense is still trash
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:50 PM) Damn petty has a rocket arm!
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:54 PM) Kellen Davis sucks
Mr_Jet Icon : (22 August 2015 - 12:40 PM) Bryce Petty looked really good last night.
azjetfan Icon : (22 August 2015 - 04:56 PM) He took some big steps from week one. There is no question. If he continues to progress like that we may be chanting for him sooner than expected. I love his arm.
azjetfan Icon : (22 August 2015 - 06:56 PM) Sanchez looks like Drew Bree's today
MikeGangGree... Icon : (25 August 2015 - 01:24 PM) WOOOOOOOO Ric Flair!
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 August 2015 - 01:45 PM) The guy in the fantasy league who said we're scared of Santana... is clearly santana.
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 August 2015 - 01:45 PM) just sayin
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 August 2015 - 01:45 PM) im only half serious
santana Icon : (27 August 2015 - 09:30 AM) Also i suspect that santana
santana Icon : (27 August 2015 - 09:30 AM) might be santana
santana Icon : (27 August 2015 - 01:35 PM) Tough draw for Liverpool
Jetsman05 Icon : (27 August 2015 - 02:21 PM) Suarez second best in Europe... pretty good
SoReALSoJetS Icon : (Yesterday, 06:11 PM) anybody know a stream for it?
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Today, 06:49 AM) WOOOOO

Smedsthejet Icon : (Today, 11:11 AM) A little surprised that Posey is gone in this first batch of moves, but then we did have a glut of WRs

FS Calvin Pryor - Louisville - AAC

Overview

Played safety and running back as a Florida prep. Arrived at Louisville in 2011 and appeared in all 13 games as a true freshman -- started the final seven contests at free safety. Immediately made his presence felt, recording 43 tackles, five pass breakups and two interceptions with three tackles for loss, one sack and two forced fumbles. Finished second on the team in tackles in '12, starting 13 times and recording 100-5-2 with 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a team-best five forced fumbles. In '13, totaled 75-5-3 with 5.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in 12 games. Had a three-game stretch of knocking opposing players out of a contest. Missed the only game of his collegiate career Nov. 23 vs. Memphis, as he was suspended for a violation of an unspecified team rule. Did not run shuttles or 3-cone drill at the NFL Scouting Combine (right toe).

Analysis

  • Strengths
Carries a swagger and plays with confidence. Runs the alley and throws his weight around. Physical, lights-out hitter (see second defensive snap of UCF game). Made a highlight-reel, one-handed INT in the same game. Instinctive and aggressive. Defensive tempo-setter. Good pre-snap recognition makes adjustments. Can leverage the field off the hash and cover ground. Good zone recognition. Rangy enough to play center field.
  • Weaknesses
Plays with too much reckless abandon and lacks discipline playing the cutback. Takes some bad angles and can be outflanked to the perimeter. Average production on the ball. Is not asked to play a lot of man coverage. Average leaping ability.
  • Draft Projection
    Round 1 (top 15)
  • Bottom Line
Perhaps the most explosive hitter in this year's crop of safeties, Pryor is a big, physical hammer in the run game, bringing the ability to intimidate and erase. Factor in his instincts and range and Pryor has the ability to start as a rookie.

Draft Analysis:

"That is a really interesting pick. If you remember Bob Sanders in his prime in Indianapolis, this guy is a bigger Bob Sanders. He is maybe the most fearless defensive back I saw on tape this year. He flies around the field and makes plays. I think he's a little better on the back end than he gets credit for." -- Mike Mayock

Awesome find.

If this guy looks like this in the pros he could turn out to be the next Ed Reed or Polu. I'm stoked like hell about this pick. On top of the world about it.

This is why I wanted us to go for a safety over a receiver or anyone else on offense or defense in the first. The Jets have needed a guy like this and if he hits like this in the pros for us receivers will fear going over the middle for us. We haven't had a safety with this hitting ability since I can remember. Eric a Smith hit hard at times but nothing like this guy constantly does.

If this guy works out he could be the missing piece our secondary has needed for a very long time. If my back wasn't screwed up I'd be doing back flips of joy. I just hope he can stay on the field hitting hard like this constantly is hard as hell on the body.

Only bad thing is with the damn NFL receiver rules he will probably get a lot of fines.

I always remember and love hard hitting safeties no matter what team. Was a huge fan of Steve Atwater of Denver back in the day.
