ROBJETS Icon : (24 August 2016 - 11:20 AM) All the Sanchez fans saying he finally has good receivers so he will play well will probably finally have your eyes opened. Looking like he will likely be cut from the Broncos by the end of preseason. He already lost his starting job to the backup and the rookie qb is playing decent too
ROBJETS Icon : (24 August 2016 - 11:21 AM) Sanchez isn't starting this week and may not play at all
ROBJETS Icon : (24 August 2016 - 11:22 AM) SOURCE: NFL LIVE yesterday
ROBJETS Icon : (24 August 2016 - 11:24 AM) 3 turnovers and one td in 2016 preseason

Jetsfan115 Icon : (25 August 2016 - 06:37 PM) Browns trade former first-round pick Barkevious Mingo to Patriots
Jetsfan115 Icon : (25 August 2016 - 06:37 PM) for a conditional draft pick
Jetsfan115 Icon : (26 August 2016 - 05:43 PM) enunwa out for tomorrows game. should give the young WRs some good reps with the first team. CUrious as to who starts in the slot. Will give a good idea of who the jets consider at the top of the group
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 06:59 PM) Starting Offense is starting to worry me
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 07:00 PM) I know its only preseason but they haven't done anything at this in 3 games
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 08:19 PM) Harris got hurt is out for the rest of the game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 08:53 PM) Well Milliner still sucks
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:07 PM) Hack is in
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:13 PM) Hack led a 80 yard TD drive!
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:13 PM) 4/6 79 yards
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:42 PM) And a pick for Hack now
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:44 PM) Well if the giants take the lead It will be interesting to see hack in the 2 min drill
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:44 PM) and now the giants have the lead
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:45 PM) Hack has 2 mins and 3 timeouts so lets see what he can do
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:48 PM) Hack has missed 4 in a row
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:52 PM) 4th and 1
MikeGangGree... Icon : (27 August 2016 - 09:53 PM) Booooo we lose
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 August 2016 - 06:09 PM) Too bad we didn't cut milliner and geno today
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 August 2016 - 06:09 PM) we should cut devin smith too cause he's a bust but hey I'm hoping geno and miliner get cut
ganggreen2003 Icon : (28 August 2016 - 06:10 PM) get rid of both of those bums
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 August 2016 - 06:16 PM) in QB news sanchez likely to be cut. some teams have called the jets inquiring about geno, he may get traded
RetireChrebet Icon : (30 August 2016 - 03:29 PM) If Bridgewater is seriously injured Its possible Minnesota might have some interest in Geno.

ganggreen2003 Icon : (30 August 2016 - 05:12 PM) I'm more comfortable with Petty as #2 than the assclown geno
Mr_Jet Icon : (30 August 2016 - 09:30 PM) Me too.
ROBJETS Icon : (Yesterday, 10:18 PM) Damn 115. I stated the Sanchez news 4 days prior to your qb news banter. Your news source is pretty far behind. Might want to find a better source.

FS Calvin Pryor - Louisville - AAC

Overview

Played safety and running back as a Florida prep. Arrived at Louisville in 2011 and appeared in all 13 games as a true freshman -- started the final seven contests at free safety. Immediately made his presence felt, recording 43 tackles, five pass breakups and two interceptions with three tackles for loss, one sack and two forced fumbles. Finished second on the team in tackles in '12, starting 13 times and recording 100-5-2 with 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a team-best five forced fumbles. In '13, totaled 75-5-3 with 5.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in 12 games. Had a three-game stretch of knocking opposing players out of a contest. Missed the only game of his collegiate career Nov. 23 vs. Memphis, as he was suspended for a violation of an unspecified team rule. Did not run shuttles or 3-cone drill at the NFL Scouting Combine (right toe).

Analysis

  • Strengths
Carries a swagger and plays with confidence. Runs the alley and throws his weight around. Physical, lights-out hitter (see second defensive snap of UCF game). Made a highlight-reel, one-handed INT in the same game. Instinctive and aggressive. Defensive tempo-setter. Good pre-snap recognition makes adjustments. Can leverage the field off the hash and cover ground. Good zone recognition. Rangy enough to play center field.
  • Weaknesses
Plays with too much reckless abandon and lacks discipline playing the cutback. Takes some bad angles and can be outflanked to the perimeter. Average production on the ball. Is not asked to play a lot of man coverage. Average leaping ability.
  • Draft Projection
    Round 1 (top 15)
  • Bottom Line
Perhaps the most explosive hitter in this year's crop of safeties, Pryor is a big, physical hammer in the run game, bringing the ability to intimidate and erase. Factor in his instincts and range and Pryor has the ability to start as a rookie.

Draft Analysis:

"That is a really interesting pick. If you remember Bob Sanders in his prime in Indianapolis, this guy is a bigger Bob Sanders. He is maybe the most fearless defensive back I saw on tape this year. He flies around the field and makes plays. I think he's a little better on the back end than he gets credit for." -- Mike Mayock

Awesome find.

If this guy looks like this in the pros he could turn out to be the next Ed Reed or Polu. I'm stoked like hell about this pick. On top of the world about it.

This is why I wanted us to go for a safety over a receiver or anyone else on offense or defense in the first. The Jets have needed a guy like this and if he hits like this in the pros for us receivers will fear going over the middle for us. We haven't had a safety with this hitting ability since I can remember. Eric a Smith hit hard at times but nothing like this guy constantly does.

If this guy works out he could be the missing piece our secondary has needed for a very long time. If my back wasn't screwed up I'd be doing back flips of joy. I just hope he can stay on the field hitting hard like this constantly is hard as hell on the body.

Only bad thing is with the damn NFL receiver rules he will probably get a lot of fines.

I always remember and love hard hitting safeties no matter what team. Was a huge fan of Steve Atwater of Denver back in the day.
