Geno injured, IK cut, Amish Rifle starting - http://nyjetsfan.com...showtopic=38773
santana Icon : (14 August 2015 - 09:02 PM) fitz is probably the best qb the jets have had in the last 3/4 years
santana Icon : (14 August 2015 - 09:02 PM) depressing
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:13 PM) depressing but true
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:13 PM) Fitzpatrick can play at a average level, the Jets have had QB play on the below average level
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:13 PM) Fitzpatrick not being mentioned as a NFL worst starter is a upgrade for this team
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:14 PM) He could throw for 25 TDs if he starts every game
Chaos Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:18 PM) 2009 with a Favre and Rex pairing could have been special
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 August 2015 - 09:20 PM) ok so who thinks geno has played his last game of his JETS career?
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 August 2015 - 09:23 PM) I honestly think his JETS career is knocked out like that right hand by IK
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 August 2015 - 08:50 PM) why the hell can't the JETS ever get it right
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 August 2015 - 08:50 PM) are we doomed for all eternity?
Jetsfan115 Icon : (18 August 2015 - 01:56 PM) kerly might be losing his job to a younger WR
GreenDude Icon : (18 August 2015 - 06:34 PM) We just signed Matt Flynn

santana Icon : (18 August 2015 - 07:02 PM) hype hype hype
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:31 PM) Which receiver is Kerley losing his job to?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:31 PM) Kerley is still gonna be our slot receiver. Devin Smith is a outside WR, deep threat and hes gonna be out for a bit.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:32 PM) though Brandon Marshall likes playing in the slot at times and does work there
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 01:27 PM) he's apparently battling (and losing to) enuiwa
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 01:28 PM) enunwa^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 02:26 PM) I haven't heard about that
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 02:28 PM) I read how kerley has been uncover able one on one

Jetsfan115 Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:12 AM) sounds like the jets think kerly is too small for what they want
Jetsfan115 Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:13 AM) if enunwa is our 3rd WR that gives us 3 starting Wrs over 6-2. compared to the 5'7 kerly.
RetireChrebet Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:32 PM) Hopefully enunwa pans out. The jets need to start catching talent in he late rounds like most successful teams do.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (21 August 2015 - 03:05 PM) MT did for us
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 06:49 PM) Well it's only pre season but I don't enjoy watching them walk right over our defense
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:20 PM) Looks like nothing has changed from the last 5 years. Our offense is still trash
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:50 PM) Damn petty has a rocket arm!
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:54 PM) Kellen Davis sucks
Mr_Jet Icon : (22 August 2015 - 12:40 PM) Bryce Petty looked really good last night.
azjetfan Icon : (22 August 2015 - 04:56 PM) He took some big steps from week one. There is no question. If he continues to progress like that we may be chanting for him sooner than expected. I love his arm.
azjetfan Icon : (22 August 2015 - 06:56 PM) Sanchez looks like Drew Bree's today
MikeGangGree... Icon : (25 August 2015 - 01:24 PM) WOOOOOOOO Ric Flair!
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 August 2015 - 01:45 PM) The guy in the fantasy league who said we're scared of Santana... is clearly santana.
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 August 2015 - 01:45 PM) just sayin

santana Icon : (Yesterday, 09:30 AM) Also i suspect that santana
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 09:30 AM) might be santana
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 01:35 PM) Tough draw for Liverpool

A truly awful QB.

But it's a 6th round nothing pick.

I dont get why he's "Truly awful" at one point he was considered a potential top 15 pick.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

Rex's son apparently helped with the decision on Boyd as he was a Freshman WR at Clemson.

Son Helped pick

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Armed with inside knowledge from a source close to the head coach -- his son -- the New York Jets selected former Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd in the sixth round of the NFL draft on Saturday.

Rex Ryan's son, Seth, is a freshman wide receiver at Clemson, and that allowed him to develop a relationship with Boyd. It was Ryan who pulled the trigger with the 213th overall choice, the 11th of 12 draft picks for the Jets. Ryan likes to say he gets to make one draft pick a year.

"I think we all know my pick," a smiling Ryan said at the conclusion of the draft. "I can't lie about that. It's pretty obvious."

[+] EnlargeTajh Boyd
Robert Mayer/USA TODAY Sports"We probably had more insight into his character with my son being there," Jets coach Rex Ryan said of quarterback Tajh Boyd.

Ryan acknowledged that the unusual situation allowed them to get a better feel for Boyd, a record-breaking quarterback whose pro stock slipped during his senior year.

"We probably had more insight into his character with my son being there," Ryan said. "My son talked about his leadership. He said he was the leader of that program as far as a player is concerned. He said that if Tajh called a meeting at 2 a.m., the entire football team would've been there. That speaks about the type of person he is. We're excited to bring Tajh here and let him compete."

The Jets have four quarterbacks on the roster. Boyd will compete with Matt Simms for the No. 3 job, behind Geno Smith and Michael Vick. Boyd grew up in the same area of Virginia as Vick and considers him a mentor. He said he consulted with Vick before making his decision to return for his senior year.

Boyd said he was sitting in his car, the seat reclined, a hat pulled over his eyes, dozing off, when he received a call from a New Jersey area code. It was Ryan.

"He said, 'How'd you like to be a Jet?' " Boyd said. "It was probably the most refreshing call and the most exciting call I've received in my life."

Boyd admitted the long wait was difficult. He was the 13th quarterback chosen in the draft.

"Half those guys I beat in games," he said. "It was a little frustrating, but once you get the call it all goes away."

Boyd was a three-year starter, compiled a 32-8 record and passed for nearly 12,000 yards and 107 touchdowns. He considered himself a top-10 or top-15 prospect, but he sensed his pro stock started to slip when he lost at home to Florida State last season. He followed that with an "OK performance" at the Senior Bowl.

Suddenly, "it seems like everything at Clemson goes to waste," he said.

But the Jets were impressed by Boyd's pro day. Terry Bradway, their senior director of college scouting, called it "as fine a quarterback workout as there might have been all spring. He was really on. He threw the ball great." The coaches met privately with Boyd and were taken by his leadership qualities.

Boyd said he's not comfortable being a backup, but won't complain, of course. There will be a steep learning curve because he has to learn a pro-style offense.

"It's going to take some time, but we have three other quarterbacks on the roster," said Jeff Bauer, the Jets' director of college scouting. "Eventually, he'll get it. He's a smart kid. He'll learn."
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

No pocket presence, doesn't throw the ball with any sort of touch or feel, long delivery.

Never been impressed with him even when people were talking first round for him last year and the year before.

Alright, now what is New England getting in Dominique Easley? How much better does he make their D-line?

I remember watching Boyd vs LSU and was impressed that game, he was getting hit all game vs a great LSU Pass rush and he was making the throws all night. He lit LSU up for 346 yards, 2 TDs, 72% and ran for a TD that game.

Worth a look as a 6th rounder, has talent. Needs development.

If he recovers well from his injury (which I think he will) they got a steal. He's a dominating defensive lineman. Great motor and technique.

I wasn't crazy about Sanchez but I did like him.

I'm one of the few who actually says what's on his mind after watching these guys in college. I'm wrong and I'm right.

You girls tend to remember way more stuff about who I liked and didn't like more than I do. It's interesting.

He has a problem putting a lot of good plays together. He has all the tools but is inconsistent. As a Clemson fan I watched a couple games. He will look like an all pro for a quarter and then look like a bust for a quarter.

Well in my defense, Harlem tells me when 115 says something retarded (which is pretty much on a daily basis anymore) and then I decide to flame his stupid ass.

The irony in this post. 115 huh? And what exactly does "(which is pretty much on a daily basis anymore)" mean? I'll be shocked if Boyd even make the team.

With that said, who catches more heat around here 05 or 115?

Not sure why anyone would make a big deal about this pick. Most teams only carry 3 qb's on the active roster. The guy is a 6th round pick. What do you expect? Yeah a few very late round picks have went against the odds and made it as a qb but it's like once in a generation. We shouldn't expect much from the guy. If he dhows he is good then great. If not not big deal.

He isn't being brought into be a starter but to compete for 3rd string. If he doesn't work out he can either go to the practice squad or be dropped and we can look for another qb dropped from another team to compete.
