Jets 0-2 vs bills this year. Does Rex Ryan survive the year?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:55 AM) Like how do you get blown out by a team that didn't practice while you had 2 weeks to prepare?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:55 AM) That kind of stuff may force Woody to make the big changes and fire everyone
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:55 AM) John Idzik has handled the QB situation terribly. 2 times he pretty much handed the job to his draft pick
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:56 AM) Besides Sheldon Richardson, his drafts have been awful.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 08:57 AM) Maybe Woody will clean house and go all out for Jim Harbaugh, that probably won't happen though but it would be a franchise changer.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 10:07 AM) Harbaugh would be amazing...but because it makes sense it won't be done
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 10:51 AM) According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets blocked coach Rex Ryan from talking to Mehta about a bye-week visit to his ailing father, legendary NFL defensive guru Buddy Ryan. Buddy, who rose to prominence as defensive coordinator of the ’85 Bears and then coached the Eagles and Cardinals, is battling cancer.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 10:52 AM) Mehta interprets the muzzling of Rex Ryan as proof positive that, once the season ends, Ryan will no longer be the team’s head coach. Apparently, the team fears that Rex would become more sympathetic in the eyes of the fan base if he’s dumped by the team at a time when his father is fighting a serious illness.
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:05 AM) Mehta is an idiot
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:25 AM) If colt McCoy lights it up do the jets make a move?
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:27 AM) I don't even care what they do for a while
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:28 AM) The team is a catastrophe
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:29 AM) I didn't see the game
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:29 AM) I remember the first bills game though I'm guessing it was like that with more sleeping in the end zone
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:32 AM) I'm with 0099...I hope they keep getting destroyed
Chaos Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:33 AM) it's a very Jets-esque move to sign McCoy if he does well
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 11:53 AM) I think they sign RGIII, Cutler, or Bradford
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 12:10 PM) why not all three
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 12:11 PM) Knowing this team, I wouldn't put that past them
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (26 November 2014 - 02:07 PM) RAUL FOR QB
santana Icon : (26 November 2014 - 02:10 PM) the only real choice

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:00 PM) Scanning the field and making quick decisions, I like how Chip has Sanchez throwing on the run which he was always great at.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:01 PM) I really hope we finally bring in a good offensive minded coach.

Injury Slider:

Sim Injury Slider: 108
In Game Injury Slider: 105

Well, these two things actually really help the game become more realistic, trust me, with all this I have had the games of my life.

PS... I did so I could hear the complaining stop from jetsfan115, lol. This has really helped me out with the game, so I figured since he always has a problem with this game, I decided to post this.

It's also good if you have your own sliders to help you get the best possible stats that you want for your game.

Here is the slider thread on Maddenmania:

Thanks for posting the link. I joined that site after you posted the link, but I didn't really get to look around too much.

I'm going to try the All-Pro "Sliders" someoen posted, although they seem a little offense heavy. I bet he gets fairly realistic offense numbers, but that the defensive stats suffer. I think 15 minutes really is the best, although I've been thinking of bumping the quarters down a minute each.

I just can't see playing on All-Madden. If I'm trying to recreate an actual game (which is what I want, not to just play a game based on football) then I don't want to have to Hot Route or Audible every play. That doesn't happen in real life. Even Manning and the Colts or Brady and the Pats don't change every play.

Anyway, I'll post my findings.

I always seem to have problems with the defense as well, especially the passing defense, I am always one of the worst passing defenses, and always one of the best rushing defenses. I guess they are still trying to figure it out. when they do I will post it here.

That's what always happens with me too. Although I also have problems with the games' play selection. They either seem to want to go deep or throw a screen or other very short pass. I rarely see the game throw medium route passes.

Screens never seem to work in Madden, and I think it has something to do with why your guys don't block on Punts. THey are similar in how they work (setting up a wedge, etc). I never run pure screens; sometimes I will run a looser screen that involves more misdirection.

Screens work excellent for Blitzing and Zone D. The thing is to not look at the guy thats doing the screen change your primary to a TE or WR. Also all plays out of the backfield you don't need to look at your HB's or FB's. The vision clone could be on the other side of the field and you can pass to your backfield only in the flats once they get beyond that you will get penilized for not looking at him.

I like the screen in Iform Twins. Coles is doing a Fly, j mac is doing a 15 yard in and Baker is doing a quick out. try that one.

Remember you don't have to look at your HB or FB to throw it his way. Just in case you didn't know.

I forgot to mention, with the Sim, and Played game settings you have to control all 32 teams in the league. When you play the game change the team you use, and the team you play against to "played game settings", keep everyone else in "sim settings".

Most of the time my guys don't block is the problem. They just stand there, no matter how long I let it go. In all fairness it does work sometimes, but in general I don't bother with screens.

THose sliders that guy posted were, as I suspected, awful. He must really enjoy playing against an unstoppable offense. Joey Harrington came out and was hitting guys in triple coverage twenty yards downfield, and he has TAcc 82! It was so not fun I got annoyed and turned it off, which kind of stupid considering I could have just adjusted the AI in game and Rhodes had a 85yard Int return for a TD, but it was late and I was irritated.

So, back to my own.

Which the hell sliders were you using? Thats the only problem in using those things I posted above, the passing offense, other then that the game is all good. I like having close games. Thats what those above give me.

Some that had the QB accuracy up to 15 or 16. It was stupid. I just hoped they would all balance out, but they didn't.

The ones I'm using now (my own) have kept all the games close, although my defense is a little too good and my passing game is a little too weak. For example, in the red zone the opponet clamps down on my superior run game and stuff the box and I still can't get in with passes. Four games, zero passing TDs. Last game the Bills shut me down everytime I got close to the endzone and despite five Ints from Kelly Holcomb I had to settle for FGs. Ten of them!

I've won my first four games, but all by a TD or less, so all good so far.

When I get home I will give you the sliders that I use, then you can tell me what you think of them.

Thats true, but it doesn't bother me at all. Either way at least im trying to fix it, instead of complaining about it.

True but for someone who casually plays it like me (probably played a total of 15 games tops) it’s a pain in the a$$ to try to fix it. for hardcore players of it its probably less annoying. I guess I still miss 2k where I can just pop it in and play like its nothing.

I played against the Colts tonight and it was such BS. The first play out on both drives they did PA (without having called a single run play) and scored 80+ yard TDs with me in pass protection. All my DBs bit on both plays.

I went and checked the stats of the Colts, Manning has mid 50s-low 60s in Strength, agility, speed, acceleration, and a couple other stats that are just mind boggiling. I checked some players who are physically similar in ability to Manning, and they were all right around 40 for those stats, so I bumped Manning down. It is just a joke the way Madden tries to over compensate for guys to make them better then they really are. I know Manning is great, but make him a great passer, not a superman.

Harrison and Wayne are both out of whack in my opinon too. Harrison has almost maxed out speed, agility, and acceleration. He is quick, but he isn't 99 fast. That is Moss (either one) type speed.

Also, another one I noticed (while I was looking for Manningesque stats) was David Akers getting a 13 in tackling. THe guy is the best kicker in the league at stopping returns. He doesn't deserve a 50 or 60, but get real, 13? I bumped him up to 40ish. You're setting the numbers, might as well set them all correctly, even if it is just tackling on a kicker.

Oh, and that Colts game was BS so I simmed it and won. Only simmed once though, I would have let them beat me if the comp played it out that way. But there is no way the #1 defense in the league would get suckered into PA 80yard bombs without the other team ever running the ball. Actually, that happens to me a lot in Madden, the game calling more PA than runs. Another one of my big pet peevs with the game.
