I'm opening up some negotiations with an owner in my off-line league and I was wondering what you guys thought would be viable trade offers. Here are the ingredients:

Me:
KJones
JBettis
MMoore
JGalloway
DBranch
RFerguson

The other owner told me he'd like to get rid of Dominicj Davis and Andre Johnson. I like Davis, but I told him I'd rather get Darrell Jackson. Since Jackson is hurt and Davis is out for a few weeks I don't think I should offer much more than a RB/WR for RB/WR. LIke Bettis/Galloway or Branch. I hate to trade Moore and Jones because I think they have a lot of upside. Scoring in my league is pretty straight forward, but their are a lot of bonuses to get (20 carries, 10 receptions, 100 yards, etc).

What do you all think? Thanks in advance.

in my league d.davis is an elite back. but yours seems to be a little diff.

i think if u traded bettis and branch for davis and johnson you'd get a good deal

In my league the best backs are the ones who consistently get to bonus levels. SOmeone like Tomlinson or McGahee who get to 20 carries and a hundred yards on a weekly basis. Even Martin has scored pretty well. 23 carries for 75 yards scores better than 17 for 95 (12pts-9pts).

Davis has usually been a top fifteen back since we score double for "unconventional" TDs, like when he catches a TD. But he hasn't done much this year, so I don't think he is an upgrade from Jones or Moore, both of whom I think will have big second halves this season.

So, yeah, I'll probably start with Bettis and one of the receivers and work with him from there.

davis sin't gonna caryy 20+ times every game. he did have 130 rushing last game and another 50 recieveing. i think he has struggkled due to lack of a pass attack. joned has the same problem. no pass game to help. i'm not sold on moore personally, but u never know

Really, that is a surprise. I thought if anyone would be sold on Moore it would be you. Last year in the three games he started these were his numbers:

55att, 339 yards, 0 TDs, 24rec, 198 yards, 0TDs

The lack of TDs is a little unsettling, but itsn't so bad when you consider that no team attempted more passes on Goal-to-go plays than the Vikings and the team had Moss to go to in the Red Zone then.

In the two games he has started this year, he has done this:

37att, 158yards, 0TDs, 7rec, 66yards, 0TDs

And that is with an awful offense that is just starting to warm up. In five starts he has gotten twenty carries three times (which I like) and has averaged six receptions a game (which you should like). The best news is that in his five starts he has averaged over four yards a carry in every game and 7per carry in two of them.

He isn't a #1 or #2 yet, but he has more upside than any other RB in the league in my opinon. He is as much of a receiving threat (which you should like in your league) as he is a rushing threat and with only Bennett to challenge him for the job he should be the starter for the whole year, barring injury. Last year he lost his starting job after one dropped (overthrown, although the commentators wouldn't say that about Daunte) backwards pass that resulted in a lost fumble. Tice is an idiot so he took him out and let Smith and Bennett fight for the job from then on out, but that won't happen this year. Moore is a year older and is ready to take the job on.

I'm done selling my guy. Going into my season my top deep sleepers (guys who probablky wouldn't get drafted) were:

1-Najeh Davenport
2-Mewelde Moore
3-Joey Galloway
4-Antonio Bryant
5-Frank Gore

I'm feeling pretty good about that list so far, although Davenport's injury sucks.
