Posted 27 Mar 2014The former Jets quarterback passed his physical with the Eagles on Thursday and is going to sign with Philadelphia, according to a source.
Im Happy for Him. Hope him the best except against us of course. He is a class Guy.
Posted 21 Mar 2014The Jets’ quarterback picture underwent a dramatic makeover Friday evening.
The team signed Michael Vick and released Mark Sanchez, making two moves that have been rumored for weeks.
Vick, who visited with the Jets on Friday, signed a one-year, $5 million contract, according to ESPN.
The 33-year-old knows Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg well from their four years together with the Eagles. He was considered the top free-agent quarterback available. The Jets expect him to back up Geno Smith and possibly challenge him for the job.
With a new quarterback on the roster, the team released the former starter Sanchez.
“I’d like to thank Mark for everything he’s done for this team and me personally,” coach Rex Ryan said in a statement issued by the team. “We were rookies together and had some early success, becoming the first rookie head coach and quarterback to go to back-to-back championship games. We experienced a lot together and I really appreciate Mark. He’s a great player, a great teammate, and I wish him nothing but the best.”
Sanchez was drafted No. 5 overall by the team in 2009 and helped the team to appearances in the AFC Championship Game in his first two seasons. But things went south after that.
Sanchez committed a total of 52 turnovers combined in 2011 and 2012. He endured the team trading for Tim Tebow and then drafting Geno Smith last year to challenge him for the job.
Ryan made the strange decision of putting Sanchez in during the fourth quarter of a preseason game against the Giants behind a backup offensive line. Sanchez was hit by defensive lineman Marvin Austin and injured his shoulder. The torn labrum in his right shoulder required surgery, forcing him to miss the entire season.
The Jets had to make a move with Sanchez before Monday. If he remained on the roster on Tuesday, he would have been due a $2 million roster bonus. By releasing Sanchez, the Jets clear $8.3 million in salary cap space.

Posted 24 Apr 2013No one player is bigger than the team. Look at the contracts that A-rod got over his career and how many WS Championships has he won, Revis is great But Look at Namdi Asaomgia with Philly he signed for all that money and now he is gone. Revis is great but we need more help than a great corner. We were 5th in pass defense without him last year. We need help in the front seven so it don't come down to a corner. A good draft and move on I am a life long Jet Fan i have seen it all From Weeb Eubank, to Walt Micheal's , To Dreaded Joe Walton, To Pete Carroll, to Rex, The players play, and if they wanna stay they can stay. If i were an owner i would not let someone dictate to me that he was worth more than my team either, it would be my money and i spend it how i want to. $16 Mill a year really, is any of them worth that. I cannot afford to get season tickets anymore and definitely take my family anymore. Screw him let him go and lets Move on in the draft.
