Posted 1 Aug 2015His status for this year is obviously up in the air as Coach Bowles has said he has no idea if Richardson will play this year. Let's hope he doesn't get a full year's suspension - the four games he'll miss come under the league's drug policy anyway and I assume that personal conduct discipline is separate from that? Obviously Sheldon's ban for using weed won't help him in this situation.
I don't see why we should be thinking of the team cutting their losses with Richardson after this season though. Even with Williams on board, given Richardson's level of play, he isn't somebody we should think about just moving on. Before his offseason trouble, he was developing into one of the most disruptive defensive linemen in the league. And if we can afford to keep him, Williams, Wilkerson and Harrison without impacting our ability to fill other needs then that should be done. Assuming, of course, that his misdemeanours this summer are merely an exception and not the start of a worrying trend.
I'm with you. Sheldon actually helped the Jets in this case because it lowers his market value. When his rookie deal is up he was already hinting at wanting JJ Watt money. People make mistakes. Yes he was driving EXTREMELY fast and he was in a 300k Bentley. 140mph in that thing feels smooth I imagine. He didn't commit any act of violence and everybody involved is safe. Sheldon's main issue here is he hid the arrest from everybody. Sheldon seems like he is fairly intelligent, he says the right things. I really hope he doesn't let this get to him too much and remains focused on football once he pays his fines.
Posted 31 Jul 2015I read an article that stated the DA didn't have enough to charge child endangerment and gun possession. No real details in the article but it happened and I am sure the NFL will look at the whole case. My guess is he will be out the entire season if not beyond. AP got a year for hitting a kid with a stick, Rice got a year for hitting a woman. I assume he will get at least a year. If we are lucky enough to make the Playoffs maybe he will be off suspension by then.
Seems like a knee jerk reaction here. What we know- Sheldon was speeding with a 12 year old in the car and tried to hide from the cops(not a high speed car chase). There was a gun, yes, obvious it was Legal otherwise he would be locked up RIGHT NOW. The weed smell...ok that means nothing other than he has a history of smoking. So basically we are saying he should be suspended an entire season (if not more) for speeding, turning off his lights, and praying the cops don't see him. Yes he is an idiot no doubt but there is no sense in making predictions about his future when the details haven't even been released. Send Sheldon to Rehab now for a month (people will forgive), f*** training camp, and see you week 5 Sheldon.
No sense in trading him now as he has zero trade value. Let him play some games this year, he will perform at a high level and send him on his way after the season for a 3rd round pick.
Posted 25 Jul 2015Im heading to Oakland in November watch the Jets play the Raiders. 99% chance you would have more fun on the West coast than freezing your ass off and battling traffic/SNOW during Christmas break in the Northeast. Honestly that trip sounds more like a headache than a vacation to me. Then again I get easily frustrated, part of the reason I moved West.
Posted 19 May 2015He just signed a new deal. I believe it was last offseason? My question would be more about why he regressed and can he get it back. Granted he lost some talent around him over the past couple years.
He did sign a new contract. One that is performance based. The reason he regressed last year is his supporting cast SUCKS. Like 2013- NY Jet bad on offense.
Posted 17 May 2015If the Jets landed kaep I'd be stunned. I've personally watch kaep live over 20 x's at UNR. He is the REAL deal folks. People say he fell off. His offense sucked, no weapons, poor play calling and lazy tempo was the issue with that SF offense last season. I highly doubt this is true thoug. SF would literally go winless next year without him starting at QB, they have no backup
