In Topic: Mark Sanchez Is A Bad Quarterback. That’S Why He Shouldn’T Try To Play It Safe.

Jetsfan115, on 10 December 2012 - 03:14 PM, said:good read. deep balls are less likely to get picked. CBs have issued adjusting to the ball in air like that. its usually a big play or an incompletion.
And I think that's the point that he's trying to make, very few corner's can do what Revis can do...in fact no other corner can do what he can haha. The Jets are "supposedly" a ground and pound team so Sanchez should only have to manage the game, but since the run game was almost non-existent for a few games mark's mistakes were exposed. While deep shots are rarely a 50-50 play, it's much less deflating to get the incompletion than it is to get a interception or pick-6. Eli and Mark are very similar in skill sets but Eli has two things Mark doesn't: a) the go-ahead from the coaches to always take that deep shot, and b) the receivers who can make him look good by catching those ridiculous passes. When Mark had them (Tonio, Braylon, Cotch) we saw more shots downfield and we also saw a much more confident and happier mark.
Mark isn't going to throw downfield the rest of the season, he's way to scared. but the checkdown is repeatedly getting picked off, the deep ball might actually be the higher probability pass at this point and with Braylon maybe he actually has some confidence to throw the ball (obviously BE has to catch the ball too, and we all know the gamble that is) -

Edwards wanted the long term deal BAD when he was with the Jets. We smartly went with Santonio, but I thought Santonio, Braylon, Jericho was the best 1-3 we had in a very long time...Since the days of Coles, Moss, Chrebet (holy shit what a good 1,2,3)
I really want to see him have some atonement and get some good looks and come back on a one year deal next season. Tone, Braylon, Kerley, Schillins isn't the best corps in the world but it isn't half bad either
stone hands needs some tree sap. Otherwise stone hands has the raw goods -

It was just on Sportscenter again, I think it's safe to assume he'll be back?? -

I just don't want the team to sit on it's laurels if they do make it.
they're not a good team. regardless of how far in the playoffs they get. They'll be the best team any given sunday, but not the best overall.
and yeah I know only one of those things matters haha -

but you're right in saying things won't change if we make the playoffs. The cardinals are feeling the effects of that to this day
