Posted 6 May 2015Kraft comes out and demands an apology from the NFL if no clear evidence is found. There is no way he came out like that without asking Beli and Brady about it first. This means Brady lied to him. I wonder how he feels about that?
Or he put his best poker face on hoping that he'd hit on the river aka them not finding evidence of what he knew was going on. Kraft is the owner of this scummy, classless, moral-less, organization I remind you.
Posted 28 Apr 2015One way to look at this long term is figuring out if the team can afford both mo and sheldon richardson once both are locked up? Seems like both guys will command a lot of money. For as much as I like wilkerson, not sure it can work. Sheldon still has a few years on his rookie deal so if we can land a top 15 pick for him, it may be the better alternative rather than losing him to FA. We do have some time this year, but his value may not be higher since the jets really do not need to trade him. Jets still have nice leverage in trade talks.
If we got anything less than a top 15 pick, however, I'd be disappointed for sure. I'd be pissed if we had to give him up and a few picks to the titans and drafted Mariota.
Also, here is a what if. What if Lenord Willams is sitting there at 6? Do we draft him and trade Mo? Replace him with a cheaper guy with just as much potential and take another player of need with a later first round pick?
I'd prefer he stays but can the jets keep both guys? Seems kind of tough to think they can.
Posted 31 Dec 2014I will be. The guy is a winner, if only the jets hit on sacnhez. That pick, as for most coaches who have a bust with a high pick, did him in from the get go. He had another chance with geno, but a 2nd round qb, more times than not, will not pan out. His GM's also set him up for failure. MT went for it all and mortgaged the future, and shitzk refused to do anything. Season after season, the team gradually got worse. Put him in atlanta, let him sign "his guys" to get his defense going, and he will win if that is where he winds up going. Matt ryan is far from elite, but he is better than any qb Rex ever got to work with. You know how many times we have said "if we only had an above average qb?" We'll he's got it if he heads there, and we all know he'll get a respectable defense within the first season or two and it'll be great if he is given the time to get things going. Rex will win there, and I am rooting for him to win as well. I honestly believe this will be just another dumb move the jets have made in their shameful history.
Posted 25 Nov 2014I am on the same page as you as far as rex goes. I really don't think he is the problem. It's not his fault the GM's in place since he has been here have been awful. I'm sure he has some say on who the team drafts, but that's not his job. Letting guys like revis, cromartie, and DRC sign elsewhere is not his fault. Coaching a team that is what? 20+ million dollars under the salary cap is not his fault. The jets have had serious needs the last few years and instead of addressing them, the issues have been ignored. Our scouting department has been awful as well. Not saying you can hit on a late round gem every year, but the good teams seem to do it quite often. I don't think there is a coach in the NFL that could do much with the 2014 jets. We have a good DL, that is it. This team was at its best the first year he got here, year after year, the talent on this team has got worse. I do believe that rex is probably a gonner, but he'll get another shot elsewhere. Hopefully he'll land in an organization that gives him a chance to win.
I'd like to see rex get another year, and see how this idzik plan plays out. I doubt it winds up being successful but its obvious there is some sort of plan in place. He saved all that cap room for next year for a reason.
Regardless of what happens, this team is a couple of years away from being competitive again.
Posted 3 Nov 2014If we have the chance to draft in the top 2, we should take a hard look at Mariota and Winston. By us, I don't mean John Idzik! He would screw up anything. I personally prefer Mariota but he'll likely go # 1. Oakland is the only team without a win but just drafted Carr last year. If we have the 2nd or 3rd pick, it would be foolish to think that Oakland will use the pick rather than trading it. Even the Jags don't need a QB after taking Bortles last year. One never knows but we just might have our pick even at 3 if no team is willing to give up what it would cost to move above us.
lol @ you guys thinking we're gonna have a top 3 pick? Do you not know this team by now? We're gonna win 4 out of the last 5 games of the season and end up with a pick that allows us to miss out on any of the elite QB prospects in the upcoming draft.
