@DWAZ73 : One other thing: Idzik now has landed arguably No. 1 QB, RB and WR in free agency this offseason despite deliberate approach. #Jets

Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:32 PM) still need another WR
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:33 PM) so i bet powell barely gets any touches this year and goodson gets cut
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 03:34 PM) Goodson is as good as gone.
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 03:34 PM) With all his legal issues and coming off injury he is done. Possibly even in the NFL
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:39 PM) Powell is average anyways.

Per source, Chris Johnson's two-year deal has a base value of $8 million, with another $1 million available in incentives based on yardage.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:40 PM) He does a lot of things well, but isn't talented enough. Johnson has breakaway ability still and Ivory is man beast running the football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:41 PM) We will get another WR in the draft. Even in round 2 you can get a starting WR
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 04:09 PM) I am still standing by my CB in the first round and WR in the second prediction
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 05:19 PM) The title race is bale
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 05:34 PM) Sidney rice coming in for a visit
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:49 PM) I think the Jets are getting themselves ready to draft best player available
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:49 PM) Last year they stuck to their board
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:27 PM) if they sign him I think that means they look to take a CB round 1
2JBallar01 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:32 PM) “@AdamSchefter: RB Chris Johnson's 2-year deal with Jets has a team option in it for year two. Jets have option to pick up year two at $4M in February 2015.”
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:51 PM) @AlbertBreer 2m
Sidney Rice has agreed to terms with the Seahawks on a one-year deal, per source.

It didn't because up until that bailiff started slapping his knees for the TMZ cameras, Chad wasn't going to jail, was he?

I feel like you are failing to realize that Chad's actions are cumulative. But even based on your theory that it was the bailiff's fault while disregarding all of Chad's previous lapses in judgment, how about simple cause and effect? Chad slaps butt ---> bailiff laughs ---> judge gives chad 30 days. Ergo, Chad gave Chad 30 days.

As far as the butt pat goes, she had every right to sentence him to 30 days. Criminal contempt is a tool used to maintain order in the court, which Johnson disrupted by causing laughter. She very well could've used contempt as opposed to rejecting his plea deal, which a judge has the final word on anyway. He intentionally mocked the system, and the punishment was fair.

Not sure how broad a scope you want me to research. The commerce clause exists so government can keep up with evolving business and industry and take action when an industry starts acting in an unlawful manner. Like the Sherman Anti Trust Act and stopping business from descriminating in the 60s. It cannot stress that a business in a lawful industry not in violation of any laws be forced to change its brand because it's deemed offensive. There's absolutely no precedent for it.

"There are three broad categories of activity that Congress may regulate under its commerce power: use of channels of interstate commerce; protection of instrumentalities of interstate commerce or persons or things in interstate commerce; and regulation of those activities having substantial relation to interstate commerce."

    Goetz v. Glickman, 920 F. Supp. 1173 (D. Kan. 1996) aff'd, 149 F.3d 1131 (10th Cir. 1998).

"Commerce clause has long been seen as . . . [an] affirmative grant of congressional authority."

    Fulton Corp. v. Faulkner, 516 U.S. 325 (U.S.N.C. 1996).

"Power of Congress over interstate commerce is the power to regulate, that is, to prescribe the rule by which commerce is to be governed, which power, like others vested in Congress, is complete in itself, may be exercised to its utmost extent, and acknowledges no limitations other than are prescribed in the constitution."

    N. Am. Co. v. Sec. & Exch. Comm'n, 327 U.S. 686 (1946).

There's no stipulation in the commerce clause about businesses acting in a "lawful" or "unlawful" manner. The fact is that Congress can use the commerce clause to create regulations where they do not exist, if they see fit.

I was also going to post Article II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but I wasn't entirely sure if that qualified in this discussion.

My guess would be no since the organization does not actively discriminate based on a protected class. They just have an offensive name.

Elected officials have no say in how a private corporation runs its business as long as it's doing so within the law.

You might want to research the broad scope of the Commerce Clause.
