    The New York Jets have released quarterback Tim Tebow, a league source confirmed to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

    Tebow's release was earlier reported by the New York Post.

    The Jets, who selected quarterback Geno Smith in the second round of the NFL draft, had six quarterbacks on their depth chart before the release
