Just recently found this site, but I will say that this article mirrors my feelings to a T! I have been suffering through this for “Forty Seven” years though, right from the beginning when they played in the old Polo Grounds before five, or ten thousand and were called the Titans. Except for Joe Willie and that miracle on 1/12/69 there has not been a whole lot to get excited about, well, there were those couple of years under Parcells, but of course the the job was not completed and once again we were all left hanging. Last year I felt good about where we were headed, but then BAM!!! here we go again. I too have always wondered about the “curse” due to that superbowl win, but of course with reality being what it is, that is not a possibilty. So, all we can do is continue to wonder what it is we have done to get the short end of the stick year after year after year, and as I think back on all those bad times, the mud bowl, Kotite, O’Brien instead of Marino etc. etc. etc. One that always stands out was that “Roughing the passer” joke in the 89 playoff game with Cleveland, a game that I had already put in the W column and then of course remembering, wait, I am a Jet fan! So, thanks for the article, thanks for the memories, some are more painful to remember then others.
