SignalZero’s Jets Mock Draft
SignalZero’s Jets Mock Draft - rounds 1-4
Playing GM for a minute or two, I’d make the following moves with a trade thrown in the mix…
As much as McFadden could be the next Adrian Peterson, I don’t think it’s a position of need with Jones and Washington currently in the backfield and depth with Chatman. You can’t go by last year’s numbers. We had no offensive line to run behind. This year will be a different story. With that being said… I for one would like to trade back a few spots and pick up a 3rd rounder.
I’m not going to go into a detailed scouting profile for each player. If you’re a true fan, you’ve already read these from various scouting sites. So here’s the condensed version…
| 13th Pick. - LB Keith Rivers. (After trading down with Carolina who moved up to get ahead of Baltimore to grab Matt Ryan) Can you imagine having Rivers next to Harris? The best pair of ILB’s in the game. I know he may not have the ideal size to play inside, but his motor never quits and with Jenkins clogging up the middle and Harris demanding attention Rivers is free to wreak havoc all over the field. | ![]() |

36th Pick. - QB Joe Flacco. Big Kid, Big Arm. No way will Clemens and Chad still be on this team in 2009. That’s where Flacco comes in. It’s about time we had that prototypical big QB with a gunslinger’s arm. |
| 67th Pick. - CB Tracy Porter. (The Jets original 3rd rounder, traded back from Carolina in the trade up to the 1st round.) Gotta love how this kid plays. Loads of speed, great eye for the ball, special teams ace. A steal in the 3rd round. | ![]() |

102nd Pick. - WR Jordy Nelson. This kid has the heart of Wayne Chrebet but with size and good speed. Excellent hands and appears to be fearless. |
There are so many possible combinations of which players might be available, but assuming that these players are available when the Jets select in that spot, these are the moves I would make if I were the Jets GM for a day.

We need a De to pass rucher genius! Instead of rivers you take Harvey from Florida or trade down and get Groves from Auburn. Brady stands we get killed put brady on his back we win… easy math got it now!
That’s what Pace is for. Rivers also has the motor to pass rush if needed. By the way… I may not be a genius, but I can spell “pass rusher”.
Ron B-Lock,
Sorry my spell check isnt working. Glad I’m not in school. your school of Rick Kotite thinking will kill us. Pace is no LT in the making. Trade down get Harvey or Groves. Do you watch any SEC football? If you did you would understand. You can pick an inside LB in 2nd or 3rd Round. Dan Conner PSU LB U or did you forget…Come on B-Lock you can do better than i know how to spell Pass Rush
Who’s Rick Kotite? That damn spell check again?
I agree with you on Pace. He is definitely not LT, but who is? The pass rush will be much better this season with Jenkins clogging the middle which will hopefully force teams into passing situations on 3rd and long. Pace will definitely help in that area and Rivers does have the speed to rush as well. Look, I highly doubt Rivers would get selected. This is just one possible outcome. I also agree with you that we could grab another LB later on that might just do the job. All I’m saying is that I really like rivers and the excitement he generates. I could also see us drafting Groves or even Connor later on. This is wide open and as long as we draft the best player available, I’ll be happy.
I agree Rivers is a very good choice… I am just beiong a pain in the rump…No matter how bad it gets we dont have Herm for a coach though..I just want Brady down and out…we have gone from Kelly to marino to Brady..When is our turn with a great QB?
Hopefully before I die.
